I hooked up the MC 18 pound and made a video. Finally figured out how to do video on the camera. Check it out.

AWESOME .. NICE VIDEO , I love norege washers with there super strong 212arc wash action & shot gun breaks. Thanks very cool washer. It's funny i was talking to my best friend the other day, and she said that her washer was not spinning to well and it is and 20yr old Magic chef i washed in it when her mom had it. So there goes the GREEN lights i told her my dad can pick it up lol .. So do you think it could be a worn belt? I haven't seen it work put i think that could be the problem. Thanks . Darren k

Cool Video! Many Thanks!

I have added this unique demo to my Vintage Appliance Videos collection. By the way, (and pardon my ignorance here): Did Maytag make some later model Magic Chef washers for a time?--Laundry Shark

Yes on Maytag

Yes Maytag bought out Magic Chef in 86, but the designs for the Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, Admiral and few others were from the Herrin team. I worked with a lady in Marion Il, her husband was an engineer at Maytag/Magic Chef in Herrin. He helped design the plastic tubs which they all went to in the 90's.

Pulsator Inspiration

I was inspired by the MW from Pulsator to hook my MC up and video. Love the wash action. I am still looking for the 88 model TOL white porc tub Magic Chef. When I was in college at Southern IL U, a local furniture store was a dealer for Magic Chef and they had the TOL model with all the buttons and the fingertip faucet.

Maytag never "made" them. They just aquired them along with all the other Fedders owned subsidiaries back around the mid to late 70's.

Has anyone noticed the parts to the Norges are becoming more and more discontinued? Are they being phased out altogether?
