Hi Mike,
it might interest you to know that your 9571 was exclusive to Rumbelows and was introduced in October 1985. Apparently very similar to the 95492 but with facia button door release.
As much as I love the Zanussi for being built like a tank, I did miss the nice motor sounds of Hotpoint and Hoover. The Z9191T is an absolute pig to move - the Hotpoint seems quite light in comparison.

the 9524 didn't have the spin slider, it was simply the 800rpm version of my 9534. The 9531 and 9533 Currys exclusive had the spin slider. Your picture shows the 9540 which has programmes 1 - 9, with 7 being included on the cotton cycle.
The 95620, 9540, 9544 etc series of machines used a thermistor rather than thermostats and used an entirely different timer. They were the superior version of the 9534 and slightly less common.
Then, of course there were the Microtronics of which I haven't a clue because i've never come across one!
