Great looking shop you have there. It shows pride of ownership too! Best of luck to you always.

Actually that Lint button is not a light.......

but inside it there is a mechanical red flag that pops up to show you when the lint screen needs cleaning. To reset the flag you push the button.....This is according to a Sears repair manual I have covering dryers of that era....I beliee the kind Appnut talks about are only found on Lady Kenmore Dryers....if anyone else can shed more light on the matter please feel free to do so.........PAT COFFEY

Is That A Ghost?

In that picture above, did anyone else notice this? It is in the middle of the picture. It looks like a man's face wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie, and possibly a suit.

The "Lint Thing" is a button. On my '73 Lady Kenmore dryer it would shift from yellow to orange as the lint built up on the filter. It almost looked like an oil based system when you looked closely at the button. You have to push it to reset it. It did not light up.

caloic ultramatic

I want to buy a Caloric Ultramatic wall oven like the early 60s model in your picture. So if you or any one you know has one. Please let me know.

I realize this is a VERY old thread ...

... but OMG Matt you are totally living my fantasy.

I would gladly give up my "glamourous" Manhattan network television life for a storefront back home in suburban Pittsburgh.

The life I want!

Hello Matt ... your set-up with the shop down and living space up is just what I dream about! Real estate prices are so expensive in the Greater Vancouver area that this will never happen for me here. However, if I was to move elsewhere, perhaps I really could do something like that! I'd love to have a restoration shop where I could work on all sorts of projects: antique furniture, appliances, books.

Best of success and happiness to you, Matt!

Glad to see you're starting up again! Can't keep a good man down, right? All the best with the new operation! (Maybe you need an old wringer washer at the entrance as a prop???)

i just read this thread.....

sorry about your losses everythingold. but i am glad to see that you are starting up your business again.
i wish you the best of luck & success with your new business & new location!!!

:o)

Matt, you have made my day at least.  It's so good to see you have risen from the ashes and back at it again.  A good looking shop for sure.  You will add more charm to it as time goes on.  Bob
