My new 1963 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII set

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

The new fan belt arrived for the ‘63 Whirlpool Imperial dryer this afternoon. Will install it later this evening on the ‘63 Whirlpool Imperial dryer and test it out to see how it works

When I put the new fan belt on, I don’t see the part that moves the belt to the other pulley and didn’t see any remains of it when cleaning it out the other day. Hopefully I can source a replacement part soon for it. The normal and super speed will sort of work but it would change the air output from the blower/fan

The cable itself is fine it’s the belt shifter that isn’t working. I wonder if there are any on eBay I can buy to replace the belt shifter

I plugged the ‘63 Whirlpool dryer in and nothing. Tested it on temperature settings and it won’t start up or do anything at all

I took the motor out and this is what one of the windings look like. Not sure if it’s supposed to be this color but something tells me there isn’t something right with this motor

That's a beautiful set, Sean, congrats! Whirlpool Mark X11 is one of my all-time top favorites. You may just like the Imperial dryer enough to let it be your daily driver. I have the Maytag HOH dryer hooked up with the 160 washer and almost never use that dryer.

I remember seeing a few Mark XIIs as a kid, always wanted one. Now I have three.

The 61 in yellow, 69 Woody and 66 gas dryer. Still working on completing a set :-)

I guess I’ll have to look more into what it’s not turning on. The drum and ozone light come on when you turn the timer but doesn’t do anything when you press the temperature buttons since the start buttons are combined with the temperature options. Strictlybojack said it ran when he tested it but it’s not wanting to work for me. Could be a loose connection somewhere and I am getting power since the drum and ozone light come on

The rear part of the belt shifter is broken off. I can technically still get a normal and super speed drying temps on it but it won’t shift the belt to the other pulley and reducing the air output from the blower/fan

Took the ‘63 Whirlpool dryer apart this morning and one of the wires that goes to the door switch came undone. Should work when I test it again this evening.

Only thing that won’t be working is the belt shifter but it sort of will work since it will only have the 4500 watt element on and will switch on the other 1000 to 1500 watt element on the super setting.

Tested the ‘63 Whirlpool dryer last night and it works! Gets HOT on the super setting so this definitely has the 6000 watt element in it

Easy Two Speed Spindrier

First post here, new to the group. Wondering if anyone knows the exact year of this old Easy Two Speed Spindrier. Very clean, and everything works. Grabbed it from Aunt Edna's basement a few years ago with some plans to use it, but now would like to sell to someone who can appreciated it. I haven't seen a thread about Easy spindriers on here since 2018 so sorry if this was wrong place to post...J

Not sure what the exact year of you Easy machine is but my guess would be late 50’s. Don’t know very much about Easy machines since I have no experience with them but there are a few other people on this site that know more about them. Only machines I have experience and are familiar with is Maytag and Whirlpool belt drive machines along with a Whirlpool direct drive I once owned 3 years ago and those are all the machines I have experience with using

That Easy Spindry . . .

. . . is the most fun washer to use.  I had one I loved for years, but the pump bit the dust and I had no way to replace it.  Gave the machine to Tyler and he found a pump.  Hope he's enjoying using the Easy.

The older style of wig wag is a bit louder than the newer style of wig wag that came out sometime in the mid to late 60’s but it definitely gives this machine character.
