Ross-

She's very pretty. I hope you have many fine years together.

Our animal companions mean so much.

Oh you cat people LOL

Dunno if we're ever going to get another cat or not. I'd like to in a way but I like them to be able to go outside and it's getting now that too many people complain. As well our next door neighbor who I really like is absolutely petrified of cats. Of course if I saw a nice Manx at the SPCA it would be here at my house in a jiffy.. They're my alltime favorite cat.

Hi Pete. In Tucson, cats must be indoors as we have coyotes, mountain lions, and bobcats wandering around where I live.
I have a pond in my back yard and in the warm weather, I get visitors for a drink from the pond but if my cats were outside, they would also have their dinner.

that IS a major set of ears

on that little pussy! she is so cute! love her color! i luv grey kitties!

my black cat disappeared last summer and we have coyotes around this neck of cincinnati too. i have had several people tell me that is probably what happened to poor little spooky.

your kitty has a great life ahead of her no doubt!

I do not think Anneliese is a Russian Blue but she sure looks close. On her first day, she is blending in quite well.

Coyotes

We have coyotes in central Ohio, too. There are no stray cats, rabbits, and raccoons about these days. We hadn't seen a chipmunk in ages, but we finally heard one chirping today, so they haven't completely been eliminated. Our cats never set foot outdoors. A neighbor has two miniature dachshunds, and she keeps an eagle eye on them whenever they are in her backyard.

She is a real beauty.

I once had a Russian Blue that I called Miss Blue when I was in my teens. I just know she is going to get a lot of spoiling :)

My best wishes for many happy years together!

She does look sort of Russian Blue like.

As for cats going outside, in general, even without coyotes, it's said that it's better to keep a cat inside all the time. They generally lead longer, healthier lives that way.

Cats on the loose:

I don't mind cats outside in their own back yard, but when they come over and start using my landscaping as a litter box (killing the plants in the process) Or when they think the air vent below the windshield of my car is also a litter box, and have fights at night, I get rather angry.

Most people aren't aware (or don't even care) that the local leash laws apply to cats as well.

My sister has a great idea. She has 4 cats. And she also has coyotes so she has a large wireframe kennel that she puts out on her patio if the weather is nice. She just puts the cats in the kennel so they won't get hurt. This way they can safely enjoy the outdoors.

Last week our shelter took in over 200 cats. Add this to the 1200 we already have. Our shelter was pleading with people to foster the pregnant cats until at least when they stop nursing.

You have a very handsome kitty there. I am sure you will have a lot of fun with him!

Ross,

Here's a picture of the 10-year-old cat that we adopted from the local shelter. He's resting on the couch; he will jump on the lap of whoever is sitting in this spot. Also enjoys sitting on the back of the couch in the sun. Now if he would only get along with our other cat.....

Ross, your new cat could pass as a twin for our Chyna who we lost a couple years ago to cancer.

Fred, your cat is adorable too, looks very content.

Ross, she is so cute!! I know she is going to have a great home, what a lucky little kitty.

Hey Ross!!

Can't wait to see you next month! I love cats, but they don't love me...(allergic) I will make sure I dose up on the Claritin!

Say hi to Roger..

Shane

Ross, here's a picture of Chyna. I love this pic, didn't realize she stuck her tongue out until the pictures were developed, she was a little spitfire up to the very end.
