As others have mentioned, avoid using the high agitation speed if you're using a KitchenAid agitator, whose fins are larger than the original-issue Kenmore agitator.

I had a circa 1989 KitchenAid, and its fast agitation was 120 ppm, compared to 180 on Kenmore/Whirlpool models.

You mentioned gentle clothes care; you'll get far from that if you use the Kenmore's high agitation speed with that agitator.

The main reason I switched the agitator is that I can use it on the slow speed, and get far better results than I would have with the standard agitator. I used a KitchenAid in FL this summer and I was impressed with the over all turn over, and cleaning ability of this agitator coupled with the slower agitation speed, I do not intend to use it on the high speed, that will shred the clothes to pieces.

This agitator is much better at cleaning on a slower speed, and can turn larger loads over much more effortlessly than the standard can do on high speed much less on low.

And its the glare from the flash, I don't use liquid fabric softener in my machine, its the devil, lol....

My grandma had a Kenmore dual action washer....That thing washed A LOT of clothes and did a great job.......I never remember anything being ripped or destroyed from that agitator.

I like the looks of this one though. I actually like the color and the shape

Oh....the standard size base comes in that color too!.....tall spiral with dispenser or plain cap as well...from the standard 2 speed models......

Guess there was a good reason for that; for many years, well over half of Whirlpool's production was for Sears. I don't know the exact percentages, but would think at least 65%. Also, Sears was a major stockholder in Whirlpool Corp.

I wish I saved that agitator from the KA that I junked after it blew up and was going to get one on ebay for my Kenmore series 90. With my luck, It would of blew the transmission up on slow speed!!..so I'll stick with the agitator it stuck with...even thought the KA agitator sure is Purdy!

Yea - the fast agitation - too fast.....

the squeeking is most likely from the suspension and snubbers wearing a mark in one location...sometimes hard to correct

that agitator is actually called a "SureScrub"

Wow, that is indeed some good turnover with that speed.

 

I must keep my standard WP agitator though. High speed is more fun to listen to/look at, so I think. heh

Rumor has it.

That the new belt drive Kenmore washer with the triple action agitator I'm the purty blue has a base as big as this kitchen aid one. I've yet to see one though.
