Fine.. So i whent shopping sunday and heres what i bought.. BTW-When best buy delivered it they used those orange straps and carried up the stairs by strapping it to them selves.. I thought that was so cool.

I have videos processing on you tube..
This is one of those GE Hydrowave washer, not sure how this works, but according to what ge sent with the washer it has no gears, it has a smart drive system, which sneses the weight of the load and adjust the performance accordingly. It makes some very odd noises, but overall its super quite. One thing i have notcied it takes a minuete or so for decent rollover to happen. I think if i had stepped up and gotten the total care agitator it might have had more rollover, but it does enough for me... Still want more info on this hydrowave wash system... Hey if it only lasts 5-6 years, i got my $350 outta it! Besides I did get a 3 year extended warraty through GE for $110. I like it so far and it looks much studier and works better than the GES that came after 1995... Will comment more when i have had more time to play

Yes i even spent the $50 for the USB hub thing just for you guys to have pics and videos.. LoL, my husband finds this amusing and stupid. I say the same about transformers.. LoL

Heres the little preview video i made:

Marketing, marketing Marketing?

Congrats on your new machine.

Hydrowave?

Ida know. The arc looks just as fast and short as on my GE top-loader which appears to be the generation before this Hydrowave thingie.

Could it be that the agitator "indexes" now as well?

Ya, I dunno, I don't see a difference between this machine and the older plastic tub machines besides the control panel and the loss of 4 of the 8 vanes on the upper portion of the agitator. Looks and sounds identical.

So you bought this out of spite?

Pop off the front panel and give us a pic of what you see, please. Hydrowave? GivemE a break!?

Congratulations on your new machine, exploder. Thanks for the videos. It's nice that you can easily watch it run. Will be interested in hearing how you like it as you use it more.

That does not look like one of the Hydrowave models. They still make both styles of machines. The upper end ones are hydrowaves, the lower end machines use the traditional short stroke agitators, which are also good machines. If it has a transmission under its skirt, it's not a hydrowave.

Reach in and try to turn the washtub with your hands. If the tub turns freely, you have a Hydrowave. If the tub is locked, it's not a Hydrowave. That's the simplest test.

it moves around on the suspension parts (ie: bounces around) if you mean the tub spins around, no it does not.. Whats confusing is why GE sent me all the hydrowave stuff for my washer.

If it doesn't spin freely, it's not a Hydrowave. A Hydrowave tub turns freely on it's axis. Both models "bounce" or rock freely on their suspensions, as they should, but the Hydrowave will spin freely on its axis because it is attached to the motor by just a belt, no transmission in the middle to lock it up. So you didn't get the Hydrowave.

Don't feel bad Chad, most salespeople don't even know the difference!! So you have the traditional short stroke model which is driven through an all-steel transmission. Still a good machine, just without the drama of the hydrowave's wash action.

A Call To GE and Best Buy Reveles there MIS LEADING SALES
I talked to ge a long time today, and found out that GE is switching every washer slowly over to the Hydrowave system. However they are with every new GE washer, and not inclduing anything to do with the older style units. Also most best buy associates are being told (trained or whatever) that all the GEs are Hydrowave units, scince best buy sold so many of the crappy old GE's. There is some diffrence in the tub seal and transmisson from what i am told, so... It urks me to no end though because i thought i was getting a hydrowave GE and it urks me, thats what they had plastered all over the floor model at best buy. I might have held out for a fisher and paykel washer or something i felt was a little sturdier... Hmmm.. Oh well..I do like the washer so far no matter what and hey what ever happens, i can always buy a new one and sell this one.. More videos to come

I'm with toggle

Return it to BestBuy. They are really good about taking things back. Especially when you're not happy with them. Just go down there, pick out the REAL Hydrowave and exchange it. Don't settle!! It's happened to me before, I bought a dishwasher from them and it took me a couple of months to do the work to the counter to make it fit. I used it a few times and decided I didn't like it. I went down there, picked out a new dishwasher, told them I didn't like the other one and they exchanged them and delived the new one/picked up the other one two days later.

I agree too!

I work at sears in the appliance department and know how you feel... Call them up and ask to speak to the department manager. Explain the situation and get them to exchange it... They will try to slam the restocking fee on you, which at best buy is 20%... Don't get angry, just let them know that it was NOT your mistake... If that doesn't work ask for the store manager and do the same thing over. If that doesn't work ask for a national customer relations or headquarters number... By then they should have agreeded to exchange it...

like most have said, DON'T settle, you'll regret it in the long run!

Goodluck!
