Today's recipe called for a blender, so I got the Osterizer out, and was wondering how old it is. It's a classic beehive Osterizer, model 462, with a knob switch. I looked for a website that showed the model histoy, but couldn't fine one. Anyone know when the 462 was in production? I'm guessing circa 1960.

IIRC that model came out in or about 1963.

In 1971, the John Oster Manufacturing Co. was renamed the Oster Corp. Thus if you see former on base plate or somewhere on appliance that's a good indication it was produced before the renaming in 1971.
Oster became part of Sunbeam in 1960 (again IIRC)
