More here that I wish to discuss, talk about, respond to & just weigh my thoughts on, but figured as I make my inaugral post in the world of FOUR-DIGITS, that I should finally pony up the basic $12 upgrade fee, plus donate $8 more to this wonderous Website in thanks to it being a great place to be...!

(And somehow hope it's OK w/ my fam'to have run up quite a tab as more got added to my records & CD's to the tune of "that", in a dollar-amount!)

Congratulations. Must like Pat Boone.. When I was about 8 or 9 I was in Kresges or Newberrys or something and they had a 10 cent vending machine that dispensed postcard size pictures of famous singers and groups. The Beatles having just become famous around then of course I wanted a Beatles card.. what did I get to my huge disappointment.. Pat Boone I could have had a 12 oz coke or big candy bar for that dime back then. If I still had it I'd send it to ya.. LOL

Congrats on your milestone. Although you won't find Mr. Boone in my collection ("Love Letters In The Sand" may be in one of the jukeboxes,) I admire collections of popular music. I take it the little girl in your profile photo is your daughter. She looks just like you...you must be very proud.

Petek...Newberry's is something I'd forgotten about. As a kid in the SF Bay Area, Miss Nancy from the kid's show "Romper Room" (Oakland) used to do TV ads for them. She was like Beaver's teacher Miss Landers and would tempt the kids with an educational toy (then a puzzle of the US, now an ipad) and then never fail to mention it was available at your nearest JJ Newberry's. My mom had a standard answer when I asked for whatever it was..."forget it, do you think your father and I are made of money?"[this post was last edited: 6/11/2014-15:14]

Hey, thanks guys! Nice to know I'm in a nice, good, friendly place!

Yes, that's my daughter, Laura! My looks, but so far, I have to give some credit to my wife's family for the part that is more than just "skin deep"...!

Hmmmmmm, since about Nov. 2011 I have been collecting Pat Boone, ever since I found that Beverly Hills episode he'd appeard on & sung a song at the end (while making Collard Greens and Fatback a regular recipe for me!)...

Just wondered why as a long-time music lover I'd never considered collecting his works and have over the course of nearly three years have gotten nearly everything he'd made... A very underrated talent...! (And so far, well worth the cost of building ANOTHER record/CD collection!)

Well, if I had known you'd gotten the wrong Postcard from the vending machine, PETEK, then I would have saved you the Beatles one that I got from that very same machine, when I wanted the Rolling Stones...! (I'm just kidding!!!!)

A few artifacts that haven't made it to the first Post:
