Ike was in the White House. The budget was balanced. We made everything here. And everything was good. Even the cheapest appliances then were better than anything made today

what a great photo!
fun was being had, and they were so beautifully dressed too... I so clearly recall those days when it was the norm, but now we have become a nation of slobs. Even at a "nice" party nowadays you will typically see jeans, not suits & ties. Go out shopping and one sees people "dressed" in "public pajamas". We are sadly lacking in taste and class these days. Personally I would have loved the '30s.
