So the years of bringing home junk finally hit the boiling earlier this year. I've had several instances lately which have built up the motivation to start hauling out junk from parted out machines from long ago.

Last week during a wash-in I joked with guests to not look at the darkened parts hoarding closet. Of course everyone looked anyway, but enough shame has come through to do something about it.

So - while not everything in this shot is going to meet the scrapper, a good majority of it will. So, before it leaves - name those parts! Mostly motors and transmissions from either a washer or a dryer. Some are very easy, while others are kind of odd ball and some have been placed to question - "is he really throwing that away!"

Most know what my collecting preferences are so this shouldn't be too difficult.

3 helical drive transmissions
GE transmission in a bucket
That spin dryer basket looks like it belongs to an Easy
Agitator remover
FF pump
Helical drive pulley
I cant name that other pump
I cant make out most motors, but one looks like it belongs to a MT

Ben, Are you willing to turn your trash into cash? Are any of those trannies for a pre-06 series washer, like a 702 would need?

I spot an aluminum Maytag dryer blower with a 3 inch vent. From personal experience, I know that they often developed a squeal.

Hmmm.... Looks like one of those GE motors might fit a Washer-Dryer combo and it also looks like a WP washer motor or two (I seem to have a penchant for frying them....)

Many of us have our "parts collection disasters" so we'd never judge you! You're doing pretty good since you have only the basement; no off-site storage unit and no garage stuffed to the brim with "oh, but I'm may need THAT"

Wait a minute, that's me I'm describing. Crap.

In any case, it's fun to organize and clean things out the way and very satisfying to switch on the overflow rinse cycle and let what isn't needed get washed away. I really need to do the same thing.

You have a spectacular collection, Ben, it was really fun to see it last week. Thanks again for a great wash-in!

but the memory cell just won't fire. Betting there maybe a Blackstone part in the maze--the tranny at the top left?

 

And of course the Easy spinner, but I'm gaga for the Custom Imperial Multimatics.

 

Someone with a BOL Easy whose spinner has no spray cone can switch it out for yours. Now you won't be trashin' that baby, will you , Ben?

Thanks for the kind words Greg and Don - I really appreciate it. Last week was a blast! Yep, that'd be a spare Filtrator motor. Funny when dryers come home with spare parts from previous owners who were afraid the motor would burn out on their dryer.

Yes Tom, those are pre-06 series transmissions. I really only want to have one spare on hand. Notice I didn't say NEED, lol. I think I'll pull out the drive shafts and gear sets from the scrap ones and throw the rest.
