Hi all,

I'm back from a week off (first in 3 years!) and, as promised, I am starting a thread for the food list for the pot luck meal for March 11th.

Listing, like this, should be an easier way for us to plan a menue without worrying about 4 people bringing brownies and nobody bringing a main dish. You can add or subtract at any time but I suggest reading this post at regular intervals so as to see the changes :-)

We have an oven, microwave,Roto-Broil (with Weenie-Wheel..OH MY) and a Westinghouse roaster that can be used for heating/cooking things.

I'll start!

Extra white sauce for Carol............

*SMACK* LOL

Ahem. I will brigning a baked macaroni dish called Pasticcio -(which I believe in Italian means *pasta mess*).Bechamel (white) sauce over pasta over a bolognese(red)meat sauce.

Let me know how many will be attending (one tray or two).

The attached recipe is a mess. If desired I will post a better one.

P.S weenie wheel, is that like a key party?

I stink at cooking, but make a mean salad and will bring Italian bread from the North End. If anyone else wants to bring salad, I can think up something else. How about drinks?

Food

I have not decided what I am going to make yet. But it will be good. Maybe something Polish. It has to be transportable.

Now, we also have a Cannoli factory in town, which sells the shells and the filling separately. I could fill them when we are rady for dessert. This way the will not become soggy. (nothing worse than a soggy Cannoli. Since there are going to be a minimum of 'Italian" guys.... I thought this would go over big.

Need to get a final count of who is coming.

Ma tu guarda... :-)))

Italian guy?!?!?
Are you going to prepare some italian meal?!?!?

YES Cannoli MUST BE FILLED JUST IN TIME AS YOU EAT THEM!!!My father is from Sicily! Who better than him can say that?

White cream is the best (RICOTTA, a tipical Sicilina cheese), but any other color works the same LOL!

And if you are going to cook pasta... "macaroni" as you said... remember to cook them AL DENTE!!! It measn that they take not more than 10 min in boiling water to be OK!

Anyway, the recipes is MACCHERONI AL FORNO! It's like PASTA AL FORNO (in which pasta consist of sheets of pasta called LASAGNE), BUT here you use MACCHERONI

FOLLOW STRICTLY THE RECIPES... "mi raccomando"!!!

Only Italians cook pasta AL DENTE, all the others LA SCUOCIONO... OVERCOOK IT!

BYE, AND BUON APPETITO!
DIOMEDE

Ps: I want to feed back...let me know:-)

oh Diomede we ALL know what lasagne is.............
(a shi--y verison of pasticcio.....(RUNS for the hills)) LOL.
JUST KIDDING!

OK I cant stand it~~~~ cream-filled brownies? O M G

YES Cannoli MUST BE FILLED JUST IN TIME AS YOU EAT THEM.
Is there any other way?

I need a cigarette.
