Need good deal on replacement rack(s) for Kenmore

Hi Gang, we have a Kenmore 587-1551590 dishwasher and the lower rack has been rusted out (due to a water quality problem that's since been fixed). Sears wants $170(!) for a replacement part, and we'd rather not go the paint & tine repair kit route since the rust is pretty much all over the rack, not just on the tine tips.

If anyone has or knows of a deal on one of these puppies (in light blue), please respond. Thanks!

Hi! Jeff, you should try checking on E-Bay or Craigslist. I've seen Postings often of the Guys looking for Racks and have found them on either/or Sites. I would imagine that you would go to Kenmore Dishwashers on E-Bay and on Craigslist, go to the Garage Sale, Free, For Sale areas, click on them and then enter Kenmore. It will give you a pretty large list of everything for the Kenmore name.

This appears to be toward the last of the D&M produced dishwashers and is NOT a Whirlpool-sourced UltraWash dishwasher. D&M is something collectors may seek out more of. This may be a little bit hard to find on Ebay, I've actually probably only seen one set of D&M produced dishawsher racks. The rest are for the Whirlpool sourfced product.

This rack came out of a BOL Kenmore D&M made d/w with the pop up tower. Does your rack look like this?

John, when I looked at some of the parts diagrams online, there aws no provision for a po0p-up tower in the lower rack. Also there was a full-size spray arm under the top rack. So, this was a model the above-shown rack wouldn't work.

Thanks guys, I've attached a few photos of the rack we're trying to replace. Note the notch in the back left corner, it accomodates a tube which brings water to the upper spray arm.
