Hi all. My friends old whirlpool washer needs the dog ears. Three are stripped and one is broke off. Now ive called around and they sell the ears by themselves. She just wants it working again and doesnt care to much about it other than it needs to clean her clothes. Lol. So will the ears alone be the fix. Or do i need the whole kit. And are the ears universal? I didnt get the model number but it starts with L and the control panel has red lettering and the tub is really small.

Cost Difference

What is the difference in cost of the ears alone against the entire kit?  (I would lean towards replacing the kit, myself)

Well the ears are 12 from maytag. But the kit has to be ordered and i am only free to go out of town to fix it today for her. What size bolt is that in the agitator? If i can find a kit are they universal?

Allen, dog ears are alternate term for the agitator dogs. Same thing you've replaced on your machine, IIRC.

MindyJ, package of 4 dogs can be had online for $3.00, plus shipping ($6.95 is typically the cheapest sources I find) of course so it's comparable in the end to your $12 quoted storefront.  If you plan to get the repair kit, the full model number of the machine is required to get the correct package ... there are three cam sizes depending on variables on the agitator design.

Fixed it. Heres the bitch washer

Such language from a lady!

From another thread: "I'm new here". No you're not. You're an internet catfish and a drama queen and have had various handles here such as WarrenKeller.

Did you every get that vintage washer your family member requested from us?

Obviously you recovered from your heart attack enough to move washers around.

At least change your machine types and style of writing when changing sexes.
