Hi everyone,

I currently have a washer dilemma and I need some input. I have a Neptune FL (MAH5500BWW)that has developed a strange unbalanced situation. While waiting for the repair man to come out I found a Neptune FL (MAH9700AWW)to use until it is repaired. My question is which is the better machine? Here are the issues with both.....
MAH5500BWW:
Unbalanced problem.
Rust inside bottom of cabinet around feet due to water spill from previous owner.
Rubber feet need to be replaced under unit.
800rpm Spin
MAH9700AWW:
Replaced drain pump.
Screw that holds down dampening plate for pump stripped.
Rubber on feet needs to be replaced
1100rpm spin

Not sure which to keep, I do find the 5500 to be a much quieter machine but I like the larger capacity of the 9700

Thanks in advance for any replies

The second one isn't even made by Maytag it's a rebadged Samsung. My parents have had one almost 9 years and have easily sunk 500+ dollars into it. Those machines are real junk IMO and I've heard several others say to RUN from one of those. It's amazing theirs still runs, albeit with a worn out suspension and bearings. (Shakes everywhere if you run the highest spin speed)

I definitely notice the shaking in the 9700 model. I have leveled it several times while waiting on the reapair man for the 5500 model and it has helped some. Im just not sure which to keep.....LOL
