Is it coin-operated?

ROFL!!! Robert you are too funny!!

a coin-op vacuum... interesting concept!

The Commercial Concept was model U7097, and appeared very briefly in the early 80's. The colors were orange and ivory, and it was a self-propelled machine.

that IS a nice cleaner, and i dont care for cylinders. im curious about the quality/sturdiness of the powernozzle. esp compared to the previous nozzle.

Fred you must tell them

that it has, at the moment, a ONE OF A KIND power nozzle with this vacuum! The shipping was delayed as the standard Panasonic/Hayden power nozzle was not available, ( a long story that I won't bore you with), so Air-Way substituted this upgraded "Quiet Series" V-belt power nozzle.

As of today, it is unclear as to which power nozzle with be used with the Sani-Clean, (New Century), Centurian and Signature Series. At the moment, the Panasonic factory seems to missing!

The new power nozzle, which Fred can attest to, is much quieter, does have a heigh adjuster and all the same features of the former nozzle. It does not have a beater bar, but a special chevron brush design that, from reports from Fred, does a very good job cleaning.

The purple/lilac color was reserected from the original model 55 canister, the first canister Air-Way made after the two motor upright and subsequent issues with Hoover--(see an earlier thread on that story). It debuted in the mid 1940's and was followed by the model 55A in blue of which there are many survivors.

Thanks Fred for sharing and give us more feedback about your initial use with it.

86 years!!

Boy Air Way has been around along time!!! Fred, A gorgous machine!! What do the tools look like? Is there a floor brush? and a telescopic wand like the 2000 version!? i love my Centurion, I'm going to take out and use it now!

AirWay -

Fred,
Your going to love that machine. I bought one from Charlie at the mini-meet in Feb. It is my daily driver. I can not beleive with all the vacuuming I do the amount of dirt the AirWay found in this house. I have gone through 3 Bags since it arrived.

Have Fun!!!

Ooooooooooo pretty!

Dig that lilac color! Very snazzy. May we see an underside pic of that Power Nozzle? I am VERY curious to see what's going on there. What's the hose like? Is it crush-proof???

LOL no I have never even seen a picture of a commercial Concept One. And if I did, I'd sell that picture of it on ebay for big bucks. :)

Corey

Oh Fred, I am so happy for you!! You are going to love the Air Way!! Next you will have to get the Air Tech tools to go with it. I just got those from Charlie and they are wonderful. Have fun and be sure and let us know how you like the machine. Terry

very nice

I'd love to try that powernozzle sometime too...

Corey: be careful what you wish for, you never know, it might just come true!
