New Cabrio 6200 - A few questions

Hi All, we got our Cabrio set today and have a few questions on the washer:

1. Contrary to reviews we've read, this washer does have the nasty Energy Star "feature", where it alternates between hot and cold water when hot water wash is selected. Fortunately it doesn't complain when we shut off the cold water inlet during the washer fill, to force 100% hot water. Will this cause any kind of long-term problem, e.g. for the water pump or other washer components?

2. We've seen where some people have overriden the lid switch by using a magnet. Same question: will this cause a problem?

3. We're getting some fairly strong vibration during the spin cycle, but the top of the washer is all curvy and we can't figure out where to put a level from front to back in order to level the unit. Any tips/secrets?

Other than the above we're very happy with the set so far.

1. Unless your water temp is really hot, then I don't believe there will be a problem in the long term

2. I have overridden the lid switch many times before and it still operates and locks fine

3. Use the seam where the top of the washer meets with the cabinet to find the level

Today we returned the Cabrio agi washer to our retailer. Simply put, it doesn't clean or rinse our clothes worth a damn. We also can't handle the near total lack of control over agitation and spin speeds (to change either one, a cycle must be cancelled, the washer must completely empty and refill etc. Just ridiculous..), and after only a few loads there's already some kind of weird stain (detergent residue?) on the basket's water line that won't scrub off. No, we're not using too much detergent.

We also read about a class action lawsuit related to these washers, although apparently it dealt with other design defects.

We're replacing the Cabrio with a Speed Queen AWS76, with good old analog controls (thank you) and a warranty that's 3x as long as the Cabrio's for the same amount of money. It also will use whatever wash temperatures we give it from our tap, instead of a choice of either tepid or cold.
