Hello guys!

Here's one more new range of washing machines in 2014! This time from Candy :)

Here are some interesting details about it:
- New, simple and more premium feel design. No smoked door, for a change :D
- New programmes like Dark Garaments cycle, Hygiene, and A class Perfect Rapid at 40.
- Touch buttons and wi-fi connection and interaction with phones/tablets and other appliances
- Long anti-crease that will do one tumble every few minutes untill the door is opened
- There is a possibility of instant door lock due to new handle, but will have to check
- 30 minute 40 degree prewash available on all models. On mid and high range there's option for a 15 minute quick cool prewash.
- Inverter motor available on high and medium range

If you have any question, please ask :)
I'd love to hear your impression too!

Here's the top of the line - GrandO SimplyFI

GrandO Vita - the medium range

Generally all the same options and possibilities as the SimplyFI but no wi-fi and smaller display

What do you think? First impressions? :)

Wireless washing?

Well... why not? If that's how washing machine manufacturers like to play, I'd say, let them play!

If I'm not mistaken, Candy came out with a model at the beginning of the millenium which could be connected to the internet to download cycles... Candy Smart? Dex, I think you're probably the best person to ask this question to... can you confirm?

If my suspicions are true, I might add that that was just a trend of the era... maybe this wifi-mania will soon fizzle out and manufacturers will start including some other baffling features in their products (like... I don't know... an integrated blue-ray player for further entertainment coupled with solid sound system). They still haven't come up with a machine that folds your linen and puts it back in the cupboard though!

First impressions? Well, it has more of a serious look than previous models, that's not to say that I prefer this over the Evo range. The Evo looks different from any other washer, although this new one seems to be a step closer to the standardised 2014 front loading washing machine look. At least I like to see that Candy insists with the GrandO range... having revamped it a few times since it's first introduction in 2005 (or 2006?)... whether is a basic GrandO, a GrandO Plus, GrandO Evo or a GrandO Vita ;-)

They got rid of the Evo door already? Thats a shame, the top access was really good feature.
I hope they've replaced the whining motor with super silent ones?
Looks like to me that top one will have a true LCD (Like TOL Aqualtis) display, and not a pre-laid out digit (LED) display, which they classed as LCD.

It looks like most the features are the same as the previous range.
Hotpoint too, and Samsung/LG are also launching wifi washers, just out of interest why now?

Silent motors

As mentioned above, the high and medium end have Super Silent inverter motors :)

Candy SimplyFI

Nice updated look, I like the chrome door and even the white looks in keeping unlike say the AEG protex which to me only looks good in chrome...

The only think I dont like is the same control knob, it makes it look dated, if it had just the main touch display for programme selection then it would have had a complete remodel!!

Do you know what spin speed options are on the super quick and daily washes? its a bugbear of mine - if I need a quick wash then its a given I`ll be needing a superfast spin...

Quick wash spins

The spin speed on PerfectRapid 59' is the maximum available for the model, so can go up to 1600rpm :)

Spins on R30 and R14 minutes are 1000rpm

Hello Dejan,
just a couple of questions:
- what other 'options' are available (I can see an 'options' key on the display)
- has the 'stain blast' option been got rid of? (I see that a special 'normative' cotton programme has been added alongside a third cotton programme - I presume for heavily soiled items)
- I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but according to the German consumer magazine, the 'current' Evo machines do not reach 60°, not even in the 'Mix power system' programmes. How could that be?
Many thanks!

- options for the options button might be some options that already exist on current Candy machines (maybe prewash-rinse hold-goodnight or something like that)

- I think they haven't got rid of Stain blast option, especially for the top model.

- The normative Cotton cycle is actually the cycle used for measuring for EU Energy Label, and it's more ecological than the "intensive" cotton programme (first when you look at the knob to the left). On the normative cycle (on all manufacturers) machine uses lower temperature than written on the display to achieve A+++ or some more efficent results...

- ...which brings me to the final question - As far as I know on that German test machine was tested on the normative cycle (not Mix Power), and it reached 54 degrees, which was the best result after Miele top loader that reached 58. All other machines on the test had significantly lower temperatures, which is also expected, cause, as I said, A+++ can hardly be reached with full temperatures.

If you have any more questions - please ask :)

Candy Models of the Now

Dejan,

Personally, (knowing I'm not the biggest fan of Candy produced washers, to me, the newest ones you posted above, look like a knock off of the Whirlpools, from the range that look like the AWOE8759B, from the point of the door.

Personally, I prefer the style of Candy door, from the newer models, that featured on the models such as the EVO 14104LW Grand'O (pictured below).

If you really wanted to "sell me" on converting to a Candy Washer Dryer, as I prefer Washer Dryers, what with my collection being, Washer Dryers & they're easier for me, I'd possibly be converted, if, & only if, (Which I'll do a replica of my thoughts, if you're interested), the door more like a Servis, only a drop down instead of side opening, with the option to open just the porthole part, for smaller loads, & the controls fascia to be operated solely by way of programming, temp, spin & drying time or level (sensor dry), being controlled through the LCD's behind the blue glass displays, as featured on the Activa Smart 12.

In short, a cross between a Servis, like my Sapphire 9635 & Quartz/Sapphire 9700, & the Candy Activa Smart 12.

CJ,

I really don't want to "sell" or "convert" anyone into Candy. It's a free choice of people who like or dislike something. I'm just sharing these beautiful news, just as everyone else does :)

Good luck in finding a new washer dryer with drop down door instead of side opening, with option to open a porthole only and have such a control panel, from any manufacturer - not just Candy, one day you may find it...
