Well,

At King Soopers, things are changing...

The Tide HE lineup has grown, adding a Tide w/Downy variant. Nothing from Gain or Cheer. No new products yet from Henkel, Sun Products and Church and Dwight. 31/40 use size boxes are disappearing and replaced with 63/80 use & 95/120 use powder boxes. Sun's powder offerings is down to two Sun scents, All Free & Clear 40 and Surf Sparkling Ocean 40. I think within a few years, powders will be a thing of the past.

Their PV line is almost gone. I also saw that Era is releasing an HE variant, too. I am anxious to see what will be offered when the closeouts are over. Wondering if this is going on at other Kroger-owned stores...

I have never been a fan of the recent Era detergent...especially the scent of it. Someone at P&G must have something wrong with the snout if they think this smells good.....then again I have a friend that thinks skunk smell is a wonderful scent....

More new items

Saw at Walmart All Small & Mighty Free & Clear and All Small & Mighty Stainlifter in new 96 oz (w/spout) bottles. Haven't seen the Tide Washing Machine Cleaner and I noticed that Albertsons has the new Arm & Hammer Total 2in1 moist softener sheets and Spray 'n Wash Bright and White in-stain remover (a return of the short-lived Spray 'n Wash Pink?). Ariel Oxianillos is back on shelves and is selling well. No other new items yet at King Soopers or Safeway.

New brands added, some dropped at Walmart

I was at work and noticed that the detergent aisle got a reset. I saw the new Small & Mighty 96 load bottles, a ton of HE powders and liquids (most notables: Gain HE, All Small & Mighty HE Fresh Rain 96 load) and the entire Ariel line is now sold next to it's P&G cousins.

Some of the brands that have been dropped are: Tide Simple Pleasures Vanilla & Lavender 75 oz, Tide Pure Essentials Baking Soda and White Lilac 50 oz, Tide w/Dawn Original 100 oz, Era 50 oz, Wisk and Wisk HE 50 oz, Fab 2x Spring Burst 50 oz, Fab Ultra Spring Burst Powder 32 load, Fab Ultra Tahitian Breeze 32 load, Surf Floral Melody 40 load, All Floral Melody 50 oz. Woolite for all colors 50 oz, All Baby liquid 100 oz.

The new ones: Tide w/Downy HE, Tide Total Care Clean Cotton (100 oz.), All Small & Mighty 96 loads (Fresh Rain & Free and Clear), Surf Sparkling Ocean (40 load), Tide and Gain HE powders, Dreft HE, Gain Apple Mango Tango HE, Bonus size Sun Burst.

Hey Laundress,

You've probably discussed this years ago, but I remember many laundromats in Connecticut would have a sign that read "No Era liquid in these machines!". What was the problem?

Sorry, Chico

Wasn't moi! *LOL*

Have no idea what any laundromat owner would have aganist Era liquid laundry detergent.

If this was a "long time ago", before liquid detergents were so common, perhaps it had to do with high sudsing? The owner's manual for my vintage (circa 1980's through 1990's) Miele washing machine does not recommend liquid detergents because of sudsing issues.
