New Dishwasher Suggestions?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I just bought a portable Whirlpool DW in June and have been very happy with it. Everything comes out dry and spotless. It's not overly loud and doesn't take too long in my opinion. Can't say anything about water usage. Most new appliances nowadays don't use hardly any water anyway.

Update

Looks like they may go with an LG dishwasher because they got a package deal of LG kitchen appliances from Best Buy.

I suggested Bosch but they had never heard of it..

They must be warned...

I own two LG dishwashers both of them has seen the inside of the repairshop quite a lot. I have given the one away to mother in law, she has had numerous problems with it, the other one is at our beach house and within the first two months of owning it the wheels on the racks started to perrish. And now there is some other fault because it keeps giving and error code. Yes they have a lot of bells and whistles but thats about it, Korean glitter boxes, with funnky tunes. They are really not well built machines and I would rather go with anything else, although I believe in Siemens and Miele.

No you must steer them away from the light, or glitter boxes!!!!

Cheers

Figure I should put my two cents worth in too. I just got through replacing all my kitchen appliances with stainless steel Kenmore Elite ones. Everything matches right down to the big handles on everything including the trash compactor. Nice stuff, seems to be well built too. The dishwasher has that powerscrub thing called "turbo zone", but I haven't actually used it yet. I'll let you know how it does. Gotta be better than the Frigidaire one I had that was about 3 years old.

DO NOT get Fridgidare. My grandma has one and she cannot stand hers. She hates it so much. You could get a 2008 Model Jet Clean Maytag stanless steel one. My grandma had that before she moved into a condo with the evil Fridgidare. She loved that Maytag. It cleaned so well and sanitized you dishes probably better than any other.

I did my first load of dirty dishes in the new Kenmore Elite. I must say, it certainly does clean well. Everything with the exception of a small spoon rest plate that I had covered up with another piece came out totally spotless. I guess it should considering what it cost proving again, you get what you pay for in most cases.

Can't complain about mine:

Are your sure about that, I think I see scrambled egg remnants on one of those dinner plates?

Further update on the new DW: They got the Frigidaire working again so they are going to hold off on a new one for now.

Thanks for all the advice.
