"new" drink refrig for office

I just bought this yesterday. The man I bought it from said his mom bought it about 1934 or so. He said they moved alot back then and helped his dad move it from place to place. As an adult, he had many many kegs of beer through it. Then his "new" wife chimed in that he hasn't had a drop since they got married. She wanted it gone, he didn't. She said that they needed the room. If that's the case, I'm glad she doesn't know how much crap I have sitting around! As we loaded it, my brother asked him if he has any last words for the refrig, he said "goodbye old friend" with a tear in his eye. She said, "good riddance." I kinda felt bad for the guy.

Anyway, it's now in my office and getting cold as we speak. The light even works as does the pedal to open the door. This is my 3rd monitor top, and the second that works. I may repaint it someday, but, as usual, that day is probably years away!

I kind of like the colors as well, it looks to be well-loved and cared for. I passed up a late 20's or early 30's Westinghouse at a sale once and have lamented it ever since.

No, it wasn't. The folks actually called the store to see if we would be interested in buying their old refrig. We got to talking and it came about that the old refrig was a monitor top. So, we went & looked at it & bought it. The refrig hadn't been plugged in for about 2 or 3 years, but is running nice & smooth & ice cold.
