New dryer needed ASAP

Then you have been very very lucky because they are trouble prone from the "premier" gas dryers they used to make back in the '60's down to the new ones they make now.

Maybe so, I've only had to replace the plastic front bearing (plastic) twice in all these years and the rear once.  Still does an excellent job, especially after the clothes come out of the Asko's high speed spin.  Knock wood, Mother's Maytag has only needed the blower fan replaced once in 22 years.
