Hello, wealth of information on this forum. I purchased a used SQ atge9agp113tw01 that has a 2017 build date from a motel a year ago, looks like they got rid of it a year past warranty.

I used it lightly at work and then brought it home a couple months ago This week the washer failed to turn on. Recepticles and obvious was not the issue. I swappes connectors going to washer and dryer control voard, and the problem followed the connector. Voltage out if it is .70 versus 12.50 on the good connector.

The kicker is, new board MSRP is almost 1000 dollars. Best deal online I found was 650, which is basically cost of a decent new washer with warranty. I did find a repair service which is $100.

I will try this, but I am not sure its worrh 650 on the new board? I paid 550 for the machine, and with a new board I xould have had a brand new set, tho not a SQ.

Reading this forum, it see.s I bought the less desirable unit. I didnt know any better since everyone suggested SQ so I thought they were built like bricks.

Additional question, I see TC5 discussed as a decent unit, but ir appears to be inverter based aa well. Will it not be plagued with a boars repair as well that will be $$$?

Shame on SQ for such a high cost on a repair part. Shame on you SQ.

That board looks horrible.
Didn't think the lint in the stacks would make it that far down.

The TC5 isn't inverter based - should be a simple 2 speed reversible induction motor.
Still has a control board though.
Gotta keep the 2 things apart - main control board and inverter board.
Some machines combine those two, many don't.

On the part's prices: What do you expect on a 5000$ appliance?
The washer is 2500$ roughly on its own...

To the problem at hand.

What do you mean swapped connectors? The washer and dryer control boards have nothing in common, neither have the motors - so swapping any connections around wouldn't work either way.

A new board would be 520$ at is cheapest:

But the repair of the board is the best option IMO - even if it only gives you 2 years it's worth the money.

Unfortunately, Alliance isn't the best in making trouble shooting easy.
There is a service manual publicly available for some older, commercial variants:
https://parts.alliancelaundry.com/files/docs/alliance/ALPM-803402.pdf
That only says if the motor doesn't spin and if the tub turns freely, to replace the inverter.

Of course, check wiring for breaks/continuity first (inverter to motor, mainly).

Speed Queen front load washer inverter board failure

I would contact Speed Queen I have yet to have a customer pay for one of those boards, if that doesn’t prove successful I would buy the $100 rebuilt board.

There was some sort of a problem with those boards from about 2015 into 2018 I’ve never seen one fail a second time so even if you have to pay 500 bucks to buy it, you’ve still got a bargain. And a great machine.

electronic control boards...

This is exactly why I jumped on the opportunity to by a used Speed Queen TV2000WN top load washer, it features a mechanical timer.

I recently overhauled it and bought a new timer as a spare, just in case.

Henene4 thank you. I was not aware of the updated part number. I found one for 450 shipped and ordered it. The repair cost is great, but it would be getting shipped west coast to east coast, 5-6 business days at the shop, then shipped back, so getting the part asap is worth the extra 300 dollars.

Re troubleshooting - there was no power to the front panel control - no errors or lights, just dead. Connector to both washer and dryer panel is identical, with identical color wires. Swapping connectors, the washer panel powers up. Also no power from the washer connector, only .70 volts, where the dryer power is 12.50. Testing same colored wires.

I just rea hed out to SQ, no luck, 5 year warranty and its a 2017, they cant help.

Good to know on the TC5, I thought I read a few places that it is inverter based with rhe variable speed motor. Perhaps I misread.

All washing machines for the home except the TC5 are inverter based.

One thing SQ does well: You can go to their website, look for the order replacement parts link and punch in any model number there.
Then you get a full parts list and list for what costs what.
From there, you can just google what ever part number the tool suggests you.
