Electrolux will be unvailing their new front loading 4.5 cu ft washer and its matching 7.6 cu ft matching dryer next month. I spoke to one of their reps in Georgia who is supposed to send me some pics via email.I'll try to download them as soon as they arive. I may need some assistance since I have never done that b4. Thanks.Yes,everybody, their new models are made right here in America!

Don't really know much about Electrolux, but will these be sold as Frigidaires in America??

7.6 for the dryer??? Now I am no size queen but gawd thats huge!. Why dont they just head to 8.0 cuft and be done with it. You know that Sears wont sit still until they say they have a the Largest drum available to the homeowner. I am so curious to what it will look like.

I'm not sure but...

...Probably it is the "Icon series" washer and dryer.
It was designed in Brazil, planned to be made in Augusta, USA or in Sao Carlos, Brazil and exported to the world.

The project is a little bit old (9 years of project and it got ready 1 year ago) and I was in it when I decided to quit my job at Electrolux.

The last definitions we had was design to match the Icon Series and they're ultra TOL (and expensive) appliances.

Honestly I don´t believe that series will be a big success because they're really expensive.

If they didn´t make any changes, I'm sure that will be a great washer, with a lot of new programs and functions, and the first "2nd generation" of HE washers.
It spends less water than previous TOL models and is considered one of the best washers Electrolux ever made.

There will be also a washer-dryer combo

We'll see.The girl who was helping me emailed me today(thursday)around 4PMCDT apologizing for taking so long. She promised I'll have the info tomorrow(Friday)for sure. Meanwhile, The info requested will also arive to my home via USMail.I'll probably receive that next friday(08/15/08).I am as excited as Lucy was on the episode where she finds out she's having a baby.I am hoping maybe they got smart and will posibly re-introduce the "Weigh to Save"hamper style doors with a square or rectangular window!!

4.5 cu ft washer and 7.6 cu ft dryer

That will make the washers a 25 lb model. getting into commerical area now.. some of the smaller commerical dryers are not 7.6 cu ft. These I will be looking forward to seeing.

I emailed then phoned them. Now they're having trouble sending it via email and are willing to fax it to me on monday.I'm also being mailed a brochure via US Postal Service.I should receive that no later than next thursday.I will keep everyone posted!

Well,I'm impressed! I got the info emailed to me but have no clue on how to send them here.I sent them out to some members of this club and asked them to try and send them here.I tried using the email here and the response was email address unknown?Anyway,If one or more of the guys here I sent the pix to could be so kind as to email the info here,I'd be more than thankfull.P.S.They come in a so called turquoise color!!!!

Whoa!

Finally. The return of turquoise! Though its not nearly as fabulous as the 1950s hue--this one is more like a 21st century "reimagining" of turquoise.

Sadly, as nice as these washers look, I'd still pass on buying them. Not until we see proven quality and durability built back into American appliances (think early Maytag) and manually adjustable water levels. Regretfully I'm afraid this is never going to happen.

Specifications

Please note.the specifications printed are for the EIFLW55 washer and he EIED/EIGD55H electric or gas dryer.for some reason, the specifications for the EWFLW65H washer and the EWMED/EWMGD65H electric or gas "Perfect Steam'dryers did not come through from Electrolux.I emailed a note regaeding that and am hoping they'll respond asap.

WOW!!!! I like these!!!!! If only they had Miele interiors..... A turquoise Miele, what could be better? I wonder how much these will go for? Considering 3.8-4.0 cubic foot machines are already $1,800 for just the washer and 4.5 cubic feet is as big as the Oasis machines... Yikes, these might exceed Miele prices!!!!

Why on earth aren't they playing up the 4.5 cubic-foot tub? I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the literature. They're trying to sell these things to Americans for Christ's sake; We're all about bigger-is-better/mine is bigger than yours!

You can bet any other manufacturer would have the 4.5 c.f. stats plastered all over their brochures, LOL!

They look like great machines---very stylish. And finally, a dryer from Electrolux with a jumbo drum. Yay!

Hi Thomas. I went to the website in the ad above, but I guess they do not have the Virtual Laundry room set up yet.

Thanks for the nice pics

As I can see, Electrolux USA is making the same mistake they did here in Brazil...

This silly competition with other brands made the directors forget the consumer for a few minutes.

They just want to make the washers bigger and bigger, but they forget the consumers live in ordinary houses and ordinary apartments with ordinary doors.

I don't know in the USA, but here in brazil an standard door is 90cm wide.

Consumers have a huge problem when they buy a Side by side refrigerator. They need to remove the appliance's doors (and void the warranty)or remove their home's doors until reach the kitchen.

with those huge washers will be the same.

worst of all? The consumers NEVER check it BEFORE choosing the model.

When I purchased my affinity washer and dryer pair, they passed by the front door almost scratching. there was only a few milimeters between the machine and the door. I had to unpack it in the elevator's hall and remove both washer and dryer´s door and dial.

For a few minutes I started to believe it wouldn´t pass.

These new models, I´m completelly sure they will never pass, only if I remove the door and break the walls.

Other thing is... Who washes a 15kg load? Huge families? Ok, how many huge families do you know? (with 10 members or more)

Most people do the right thing. they separate the laundry in several loads (whites, light colors, jeans, towels, bed sheets, etc)... 15kg of bed sheets? it means almost 25 king size sheets OMG is it a hotel?

While that... those single consumers who lives in flats, small apartments or lofts have no options but buy a huge washer, much bigger than their needs or use the building´s laundry and maybe find the neighbour´s underwear.

Hi Thomas,

I know these were just photos you had posted, but I saw in the photo that they tell you to go to their website for a virtual laundry tour. They probably do not have the site updated yet. But......thanks for the nice photos.

I America, most front doors are 32 or 36 inches wide, and kitchen back doors 32 inches. Not good at converting. SO let me know what that converts to in metric. lol I have an LG washer, dryer which is 27 inches wide. The machine was bought almost 5 years ago. Great machine. It does hold a lot of clothes, and large down comforters. But....I know what you are saying in that the most times it is filled is when it is doing a large load of towels of dark clothes. I think the difference is that Americans do not like to wash clothes every day, (unless they have a large family). So.....they let ie pile up a do large loads. I do have to agree, the manufacturers are gettng carried away with size. What will be next??? A commerical size? YIKES.
