New Frigidaire FL!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Did you read the manual? Did you try to seek the answer to that question? It's in there.

"Increase the water fill level of the agitation portion of any wash cycle"

The manuals for all the new models in this new series are there, not for just some of them. In fact, the manual is one of those all-encompasing ones where all the featues are covered for the sries so it just depends upoln how high up you go in this new seeries as to whether all the features mentioned in the manual are one the machine.

Max Fill

It's the "press-and-hold" function on the Delay Start button. You can see it in teeny tiny gray superscript to the right on the Delay Start button. There are a couple of buttons with the "press-and-hold" function (like a control-shift function on a computer keyboard).

I'm printing out the manual as we speak! Believe me, it's taking all the fortitude I have not to call my local dealer and order a pair this morning. I'm forcing myself to wait until CR reviews it---that should give me time to get over my "new washer fever", LOL.

Looks like Frigidaire has come up with a pair that can at least begin to compete with LG and Whirlpool. FINALLY!![this post was last edited: 6/5/2010-13:00]

I'm right there with ya Eugene. Now c'mon, you know you want them!!! Dial that dealer's number on Monday!!! I'm sure they're closed by now. "TAKE ME HOME DADDY, I'LL TUMBLE FOR YOU."

You know, these may persuade me to give serious consideration to replacing the Calypso...after all, it's 10 years old now and maybe needs a little vacation at this point!! That Max Fill feature has me dripping!! Will someone please buy one and try it out for us???? Please? It looks like Frigidaire may actually have incorporated consumer feedback into the design, since they've covered a lot of bases in these new models.

I just love it when a cute guy carries me around on his shoulders!!!

Wow! Some of the newer Duet's have MAX rinse option now (although I have no clue how deep MAX rinse really is.)

Now the new Frigidaire machines have MAX fill option.

It does say "Increase the water level of any wash cycle"

So you can only increase the water level in the wash and not the rinse? Ideally, one would be able to increase the water level of wash and rinse, but if they only give one option, I'd rather the water level be increased in the rinse cycle, not the wash. (Perhaps on this machine you can increase the water level in rinse as well), but it doesn't sound like it with their wording. I wonder if it's a disgustingly small increase or a decent increase in the water level. I've wondered this about the Duet MAX rinse but I have never seen a video or anything on that.

Frigidaire FL!!

I really have not read over the manual throughly but it would be great to be able to get more water in these machines. I hope it will be a substancial amount more and not just another drop or 2.

Lets hope it's not like the LG's waterplus cuz I hear that uses very little extra water. I like the way MAX FILL sounds, let's hope it's really MAX FILL and not just another cup of water

Eugene, you need to just succumb to the little voices in your head and the little men on your shoulders seductively calling on you to go ahead and call your local dealer. Make their day. Make their June month sales figures improve.

Bob---I looked over my finances, which was more than enough to kill my 'new washer fever'. It would simply be stupid for me to go into debt $2500 (need those pedestals, of course!) when I have two washers in perfect operating condition.

Oh well...it was fun while it lasted, LOL. I'll be in much better financial shape in a couple of years (knock on wood). Gotta keep my eye on the prize, as they say.

Water usage

According to the Energy Star ratings, Model 4474 has a tub volume of 3.81 cubic feet and a water factor of 2.9 giving a water use per load of 11.05 gallons.
It is 155% more efficient than the federal standard (MEF) meaning it uses much less water.
One of the most efficient machines to date.....
It uses too little water--hope the max fill really works.
