New Frigidaire Slogan

I was watching the WCI-58 Unimatic videos for the 1,000,000th time (quite literally...), and I am amazed that it takes only 26 seconds to empty a full tub of water, pump it out, and reach the top spin speed (watched the counter)! I can expect 1:20 with my spin-draining Maytag, sometimes even longer depending on how sudsy it is.

Here's a slogan I thought of: 0 to 1140 in 26 seconds--see your new Frigidaire today!

here's my feeble cliche ad entry

towel 1 to towel 2 in machines tub-we're goin for a quick spin-this Frigidaire Unimatic kicks washer butt!

Frigidaire actually did use this concept in advertising in the mid 60's when they introduced the Jet Action washer and "Rapidry 1000." I remember seeing TV commercials for the Jet Action washer that said something to the effect of "Rapidry spin goes from 0 to 1000 rpms in 20 seconds" or something like that. They showed a clip of the tub beginning to spin then cut to the full speed of 1000 with the tub a blurr. It was a very cool commercial.
I love watching my 55 Unimatic empty the tub in a flash and pick up speed so fast...very dramatic. When I was a child this part of the cycle was my favorite too.

It's really a shame that modern day engineering can't see the Frig unimatic system as being really energy efficient. It's quick to empty, thorough damp dry makes a lot of sense to me and others. The only thing that wouldn't pass mustard would be those overflow rinses. I'm sure the modern designers have to create approvable designs for cost purposes. Translates to inexpensive and mediocre.

Which brings to mind the question how fast the laundry actually is going. I mean in miles per hour!
