Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I'm good thanx, I trust u r 2 ;)

Maybe those Indesit weren't exploding... not to my knowledge anyway. The one my aunt had stopped working because of a PCB failure and the engineer wrote it off (she's got an Ariston now but she doesn't know they're the same company LOL).

As for the Servis... they sure look smart... but it's still too early to express a judgement... the same way I feel about my recent Hoovers. Maybe we should just sit back and observe... I mean... watch :D

The main problem I remember with that Indesit series was the timer would advance through the whole cycle in about 10 minutes and the machine would stop mid-wash. It also had an issue where the machine would stop and timer would just continually advance round over and over again until you turned the machine off. The high end machines had digital timers and this was less of an issue, but the lower end machines with the mechanical timers were forever failing. There were numerous other issues - premature bearing and brush failure was also noted. Add that to the poor wash performance overall and the machine was hopeless.

Timer issues

Exactly the same problems which caused my mum's hoover performa to die a death after just 3 years, dial would endlessly click round and round and the machine would stop mid cycle.

Our neighbour had an early 2000s indesit...it couldn't even get grass stains out of jeans on a 60c wash with ariel bio powder and the stains having been pre-treated and scrubbed beforehand!

Why was the wash so poor? Was it lack of agitation? Low water levels? I had a problem with stain removal on the 2011 Zanussi Flexi Dose but luckily not on the Jetsystem model. I know the Indesits of today wash well.

When our hoover softwave died in 2003 mum ordered a basic indesit, from square one we had problems, it leaked through the door as the screws weren't tight enough, then after 3 months the pump went, then after another 3 months, it had a new motor and things kept getting jammed into the pump impellor, with a family of 6 at that time and indesit taking ages to come out and look at it, the machine was scrapped in 2004. Mum said that if she had a bit more money at the time and put more thought into it, we would have had a tricity bendix washer, we had a hoover MEGA 7 1300 after the indesit and it was a lot better, albeit took ages to wash, it leaked because of a nail and the inner tube leaked onto the controls, the machine died after 2 years because of the leak.

With that amount of wash water there is no way it can heat up to 30 deg but if your not on a water meter it's a great freshen up programme.
