Tried out two new Henkel products - not overly impressed by either one of them.

- Somat Gold Dishwasher Tabs -

- Vernel Soft & Oils Fabric Softener -

Thanks for posting, your Youtube tests are very much appreciated.
Usually Somat outperforms most others cleaning wise and doesn`t attack the dishes like most Finish products allegedly do. This seems to be the second let down after the Gel Tabs.
Will stick to my inexpensive Lidl or Aldi tabs and not even bother to try out Somat Gold myself.

As to Vernel Soft & Oils, I remember there has been a short lived product called Downy von Lenor about ten years ago. It was also a transparent liquid and was marketed to make ironing easier (as if regular FS wouldn`t) and not to affect fabrics` absorbancy. Didn`t like it back then and suppose the new Vernel might be pretty much the same, but at the moment I prefer their regular Vernel FS to Lenor.

Yes

Yes mrboilwash, I remember that Downy product from 10 years ago, it was good, but can't remember it being any different to softener.

Well, Stiftung Warentest (our Cosumer Reports) really loved Somat 10 and said it cleaned better than any other product. After Somat 10 came Soamt 12 and now, ever so slightly reformulated, Somat Gold. I'm not sure what it is... maybe the soil was too heavy... but I'm not really impressed. Especially not for the price. My bag of Kaufland (German store brand) was sooo much cheaper than this Henkel product and cleaned my dishes just fine.

I vaguely remember that clear Lenor softener. I think it was sold as Downy Advanced in the US.
