Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Congrats Rob, you will enjoy that dryer. As I mentioned above, my Mom got hers like this in late December 1982. We installed it with a washer in January 1983. It has been going ever since. It now dries just for her but there were a number of years that it dried for four of us, then twenty years or more for Mom and my Dad.

I put an idler, belt and rollers in it maybe ten years ago, but it runs largely like new. I bought the same thing new in 1986 except with no signal adjustment. I never realized how functionally great these dryers are until I found this site, but then I quickly realized that we've had few if any complaints out of our machines all these years...just properly dried clothes with no issues.

I hope you can say the same with yours after while.

One of the most reliable dryers ever made. Ours is a WP TOL electronic model we bought in Feb 1993. All I do is pop the covers every three years and vacuum it out.
It has never needed any repairs. The belt, interior drum light bulb and everything else are the originals from when it arrived from the factory. And it still dries clothing to near perfection every time it's used.
To be honest, I would not be surprised if this dryer outlasts us!

Congrats!

As someone who has found a NIB 60's dryer, I know the absolute thrill of being the first one to hook it up and dry the first load! Good feeling, isn't it? Looks great!
