The one neat (to me anyway) feature on this WM3670 is that the extra rinse button actually allows you to add more than 1 extra rinse - this behavior was not even documented in the owner's manual.

The number of selectable extra rinses appeared to depend on which cycle was selected, but for example I did a test wash in normal cycle and I could select 3 extra rinses. The time display changed to a "1", then "2" then "3" as I kept pressing the extra rinse button. If you pause between presses the display switches back to the changed (and increased) overall time to due to the # of extra rinses selected.

Again I don't have this machine since I returned it but this is a good feature by LG.

Hi Bobbi thanks for the information. Like I said I was not sure if the Heavy wash did 3 or 4 rinses? But when it adds water at the end of the wash I think at that point it is adding the bleach as well completing the catalyst wash process. I do like the deep rinses with the water plus option!
Hi Chris I do remember pressing the extra rinse and the '1' displayed on the console. When I pressed it again it just went off completely! How come you returned the machine?
 
Peteski...I think I may have gotten a lemon with my new 3670, the one I got was really really bad in terms of the tub rocking, hitting the insides of the cabinet when initially trying to go into spin from either the wash or rinse parts of the cycle. I didn't want to take a chance on a repeat performance with an exchange so I decided to try a different FL brand. So far I'm very happy with the Samsung I chose to replace the LG.
 
LG Washer!

I got to do a load of laundry in the washer. Big load of mixed stuff. Used the Heavy cycle with Normal soil set. I set with water plus. It started at 1 hr 32 mins and did 3 complete rinses. The water level in the wash was low until the last few minutes of the wash filled to a better level! ( I Think that is when the bleach is dispensed) and all 3 rinses used a good amount of water just below door boot! I just wish that all these cycles were better discussed in the manual. Mom still has not used all the cycles and probably never will. I tried to encourage her to use the steam option instead of using bleach and of course she doesnt want to hear it!
 
Peteski - Yes, that is how the Heavy Duty cycle does it. If you want more wash time with the extra water, choose the Bulky/Large cycle + Water Plus. However, note that you will have to add a spin (11 minutes for High, 13 for Extra High) after the cycle ends, because Bulky/Large's highest spin speed is Medium. As far as I can tell, there is no way around that.
 
I thought

I read somewhere that towels uses as much water as bulky on LG machines, and you can use high spin on that cycle? I've never used an LG, I just remember reading something about that.
 
Re washing beach towels???

I just found this forum ---great info--but not before I ordered an LG FL 3670 w/its paired dryer from Costco online Friday...debated between the 3770 which had more + reviews from sites like Reviewed.com but 3770 has the Turbo feature vs the ExtraWater option for the 3670 and decided I preferred that...just the two of us so didn't feel need to buy xtra $$ w/d to meet our needs...

This set is going in our FL house. We use beach towels for the pool and have 6 or more to wash at time...The sellers for this house left their 4 yr old GE FL set when they moved. It worked ok for first 3 yrs--before the shocks went out. Replaced them for less than cost of new washer. Now they are out again...the repair guy told me that was bad design on GE's part and they likely would.

I want to know how the 3670 is holding up for heavy loads after being used for several months.
Do you have any trouble w/heavy items like towels or bath mats getting off balance and not being able to enter a good spin cycle? With the shocks out on this current GE I have to pause machine and resettle items in drum w/heavy things--even on slower spin options...
From what I have read seems like I can/should run a MED spin initially w.heavy items and then maybe run an extra spin at higher RPM...didn't know that was better choice and didn't seem to be option with the wash cycle...

We don't have lot of laundry since just retired couple but needed larger sz for King comforter that I wash and my daughter does her king comforter in our larger GE now so likely will use this LG too.

Also plan to do her laundry for first month of so...bought from Costco which has a 90 day return policy. But we leave for our TX house second wk in August so want to do as much laundry as I can before then to find out if these are lemons and need to be returned...
Appreciate any info you care to share...
 
I have the 3770. Your 3670 is mechanically the same as mine. No balance issues. Oddly, I just serviced an older lg that has been in a tanning salon since new. Ran 4 loads / day 7 days a week. Just had its first repair- water pump. Unit was roughly 5-7 years old No balancing issues with that machine either
 
LG FL 3670!

Welcome to the club. The 3670 is a real nice machine. I have tried to watch the cycles and how they work when I go to my Moms but it isn't always possible! I still want to find out about the Towels cycle? Like I said before you cant use extra rinse and water plus options at the same time. I have the smaller compact combo and I can use both options at the same time. But mine doesnt have as many cycles as the 3670! Mom has the washer since April and she said she loves it. And she likes it better than the Frigidaire gallery she had for 12 years that she really liked.
I haven't asked her what cycles and options she has been using! Once you get past the learning curve in operating it - I think you will love it!
 
I was looking at the LG

machines online yesterday - As much as I feel more comfortable with WP/Maytag - I've always liked LG's options and wash action better. I noticed that if you buy an LG that has a heater (from what I can tell) you can either get turbo wash or water plus (excluding a few models) but never both on ONE machine. I wonder why?

Also, if the LG's do deeper rinses with water plus, yet it still does low water washes - that actually perfect - U want more water in rinses than in the washes.

I may get an LG next if/when my Duet ever dies - but I definitely will never get a Samsung.
 
"Ran 4 loads / day 7 days a week..."

I've always been curious as to which method of machine usage is better...

(a): once a week, for a few loads;

or

(b): daily, for at least one load, possibly more.

I would imagine with method 'a', that bearings might partly degrease themselves, belts could develop flat spots, and gaskets dry out. Rust or corrosion might also develop, week to week.

On the other hand, method 'b' would perhaps increase general wear and tear, but at least all moving parts are kept moving, bearings lubricated, gaskets and seals kept wet, etc.

Does anybody have a view on the subject?
 
I got my set for just under 1600 w/two plain pedestals plus 4 yrs of warranty, shipping and installation/haul off for my current set included...not like buying dented from Sears Outlet but
Like I said--I saw good reviews for LG 3670 and the 3770 (and other LG sets) as well as the Whirlpool set Costco had--but thought buying from Costco offered stronger likelihood of positive customer service if there are issues...

Need to get new water hoses--washer comes with drain hose--
Any suggestions---
This is for a one story, concrete foundation house--that has been repiped w/PEX or somethings like it by previous owners...understand water-hammering MIGHT be an issue with even newer LG washers...
 
That's strange that you can't add extra rinses...

...being that I have the Kenmore equivalent of this LG and can add up to three rinses on any cycle.

They must have different software for the LG even though the base machine is still the same. If it is software related, it won't be disclosed in the manual and I'm betting that the hotline will know of anything either. Software in appliances and other consumer goods seems to be walled off from the public at any opportunity. I had to take my car in for a software update on the transmission a year ago. I have had to update software on some rooftop unit control boards.

Actually you can use extra rinse but if you try to select it with the water plus option they cancel each other out! As far as the hot line they know absolutely nothing. On my combo 24" model that is 5 years old I can use both options at the same time. But the 3670 has so many more cycles like heavy that use 3 rinses and whitest whites that use 4 rinses without the extra rinse option. I still want to try the towels cycle to see how many rinses you get without using the extra rinse option. What pisses me off is the manual doesn't describe the amount of rinses for each cycle. And it doesn't say that one option cancel out the other. What happened to the days when you could do anything you wanted with the Normal cycle? They keep making these things more and more complex!
 
I was glad to find out I can "command" a spin only with the 3670 with a work around on the control panel--I use the drain/spin option on my GE when I have heavy load because of the bad shocks not allowing a good spin.
I think that you MIGHT be able to command an extra RINSE option using same beginning of the work around but just choose a RINSE option and start the machine...
Might not work--wouldn't want to damage the machine control panel...

Will getting the water intake hoses that have the 90 degree angle lead to a water hammer effect?
I understand these LG washers still have pulsing water intake and some people experience water hammer even w/new machines....no design change from LG...
 
Nice to find this thread. I'm considering a 3670 and companion gas dryer, stacked, in graphite steel color. It will be in my kitchen so it has to look good. A few people I know who have had LG washers have been happy.
 
I considered the gray choice--for some reason on some sites--that color has more/better reviews than the white--which stats show more white sets are sold...but went w/white--
Mine are being delivered nxt Tues--wish it were sooner but guess the July 4th weekend slowed processing down...
FWIW--when the delivery service does the install--vs the buyer--there ARE new water lines provided. So I don't have to get those--
But would anyone recommend SS hoses over normal plastic ones?

AND does anyone install pads to use under the units to retard vibration/shifting?
Should we consider a drip pan under the washer?
These are being set up in ground floor/concrete foundation with a floor that is LVT click over ceramic tile...
 
I'm still confused

So when choosing water plus, it gives you an extra rinse automatically , which is why extra rinse option isn't available with water plus? Am I understanding that correctly? Thanks
 
LG 3670!

Mark actually water plus does not give you a extra rinse! It makes the water level higher on the rinses. From observing you get 2 rinses on normal cycle, 3 on heavy duty, and 4 on whightest whites! that is without using the extra rinse option! so you get better cleaning if you use the additional cycles asside from normal cycle with the water plus option! On my LG combo which is 5 years old I can use both the water plus and extra rinse at the same time. But I dont have all those extra cycles. In mine I do most jobs on normal and modify that cycle the way I want. I believe this is probably due to these newer energy restrictions! But I am not sure and at LG they know nothing!!
On the 3670 I still havent tried the Towels cycle to see how many rinses that one gives??
so if you select extra rinse yeah you get the extra rinse but you get less water!
