My sister has the same Indesit as you, hers does exactly the same on the spin. I was Babysitting for her last night and decided to make a start on the mountains of washing she always has ( 3 girls, 11,7 and 2 and a half ). Anyway, the final spin on cottons appears just to do a short burst of 1000rpm then as you say drop down some.
My sister loves her indesit, and I must say for a budget machine I think it washes well and the cycle times aren't stupidly long, plus decent rinse levels. She previously had a Whirlpool AWM1400 ( i think thats the model number ) which lasted 5 years of doing 4 loads a day. Even though the indesit has a slower spin she still prefers it, its a LOT quieter than the whirlpool and quicker.
Anyway, back to the gel.....I've tried Ariel Excel, Fairy Gel and Bold Gel...all of which I passed onto my sister as I got terrible suds lock in my machine. I dosed correctly but must be our soft water. Tried using less but things werent getting clean enough.
