New Maytag top loaders!!!

The TOL models remain unchanged, besides the differnet knob, and the Sanitary with Oxi cycle now is remaned into Sanitary with Oxi and Steam.

 

No changes for the front loaders. The WFW98 (?) got a Smart Grid button.

Interesting nice new hole pattern in the wash basket.
I just don't like the wash plate belt drives..
models, the duel agitator belt drives are fine.

They say that Maytag models offer more heft to the package.
In the top of the line models are they still using TRUE
F & P Magnectic Direct Drive motors ..

The lock out feature really bothers me but
seems like UL got them on that issue..
Why not a 3 to 5 min open delay so you can
Check while its on button behind the control panel..
Lock out for normal consumers is making washday worse
for average people who do laundry.

like the new drum on the wash plate models hate the new WP control panel looks better on the maytag ....
and honestly ... yall expected WP to do better i find that stainless steel drums should be standard now even on lower end washers ....

for me the lid should lock just before spin on models with manual water level control since there is no need to sense balance (no sensing spins) as the washer will redistribute during agitation

on models with auto load sense locking during sensing spins is essential as the washer uses the sensing spins to sense balance and load weight to estimate the load size before it goes into sensing stroke agitation to accurately sense the load

as for the agitators whirlpool could have did sum thing new and i hope water flow into the machine has been rectified i mean that water restriction sucks

motherboard should have new coding and the lock mechanism should have less issues / better design by now and i mean whirlpool could have also raised the spin speed on all base models to 900 RPMS instead of just cosmetic changes. i suspect that they also changed agitation profiles a bit (i think the washer should do more 90 degree wash strokes @ a higher speed in between the 180 degree long strokes heck maybe a 360 stroke in the mix). also hoped the quiet down the drain pumps and ship a longer drain hose.

Control Panel Knobs

I felt the control panel knobs on a current WP range offering and they are absolutely the flimsiest plastic EVER.  I instantly ruled out WP/MT as a possible replacement for my kitchen renovation.  Making GE the front runner at this point.

when i look at the control panel it looks like they are using the bravo control panel design

The top-loading Frigidaire Immersion Care is also belt drive. Guess it's more common than I thought. I figured all the impeller/wash plate machines would be direct drive. Wrong!

Machines are too noisy. At least the HE models are. They should have stuck with the F&P design.

Too heck with these new WP-Maytag things-I'll just buy a washer at the SWAP SHOP-the older ones!They have agitators--and fill up with WATER!These new machines are just crusher bait!!The hungry crushers are just out there waiting for 'em!

Basic model

I found this picture on the acces.whirlpool site. It's a model with only water level switch and temperature control. Just like in the old days. I bet though the rinse is a spray rinse (?).

seeing these new washer i can say that i would go huebsch

seeing these new whirlpool maytag agitator washer even do i use the inglis whirlpool brand since i was a child i would go with the canadien speed queen huebsch top load model zwn 432 or buy a vintage refurbish wsher dryer set like this set if i had to make a choice

I replace the boards in these machines continually. These machines are plagued with problems. I usually am called to service them at about 1 year and a month old. Just out of warranty. More Whirlpool junk
