Been on the journey of upgrading our flatshare appliance wise over the past few months and bought a new oven and cooktop set just in time for christmas baking.

Bought an AEG KOMBI 304 PI set which is an AEG BPS33102ZM oven, HK634250XB hob and 2 partialy extending telescopic rail pairs.

The cooktop is a somewhat basic induction 4 zone affair with 1 small, 1 large, 1 medium zone and 1 medium zone with oval extension for roasters etc.

Power is responsive, booster function on all zones, 14 settings plus keep warm, only thing is the touch UI isn't the most responsive.
Timer and everything as usual.

Easy fitting as well. Just drop in and done.

The oven is self cleaning and pretty large. Even appears to have a catalytic converter for the self clean function in the ceiling of the oven.

It does have the shorter self clean cycles (1h or 90min) and thus not the wastefull 3h variant the german consumer reports bashed a few years ago.

Cooking so far was pretty even, nice quick preheating. And nice and quiet!
Oven is incredibly well sealed too.

Overall the price to performance set I would recomend to most people.
You get these for 700€ odd bucks regulary and in that price range the mix of quality and performance is hard to match.

I'll report back once I used the self clean system!

So I ran a higher level 90min self clean cycle a couple of days ago and am impressed.
Quick, easy, thourough.

Smell was tolerable - you smelled heat but no burnt smell like on many BSH built ovens.
Only "annoying" thing is that a) the oven only locks about 10min in which means you can easily accidentily abort the cleaning cycle and b) that the cooling fan runs on high speed from start to finish.
But once heated you can actually switch between cleaning times while the cycle is running.

And everything was clean afterwards. But no horrible soil, so take that as you want.

Thing I noticed just while the cleaning cycle was running: While most EU ovens have 2 seperate upper heaters (one inner one outer, each 1000W) this one has just one 2000W element.

One thing that kind of worries me:

The oven is basivly completly quiet, even on the convection setting.

With one exception: When ever the lower heating element is energized, it hums noticeably louder than everything else on the oven during normal operation.
Like an audible 50Hz hum.

Not sure yet if I want to do something about that.

But it is kind of annoying as it sometimes even overshadows the DW noise.
