My family just got this today, it’s almost brand new it’s nearly a year old and still has 4 years left on the warranty. It was a marketplace find, the owner bought this machine a year ish ago and the dryer they already had just went recently so they decided to buy a matching Maytag set. Gross. To each is own….

Anyways this beautiful machine is now in our hands for a very solid price. To be clear this is my parents machine, not something I recommended. I am not pleased with the new wash action, and it simply makes no sense to me because the agitator really doesn’t turn aggressively enough to clean. The original agitation the SQ always had for decades was absolutely aggressive and deeply cleansed fabric. Why would you switch out a dime for a penny Speed Queen? Material wise it’s certainly top notch and will always be a much better candidate than the Cabrio it was just replaced with. I HATED THAT WASHER! I was so happy when I got the text that the motor gearing was bad, and wasn’t worth fixing.

Overall I really like it, and that’s saying a lot because it’s got a lid lock and is mostly electronic but still isn’t by any means a HE machine, which is why my parents got it and they really like it. I think the wash action is good for lightly soiled clothing, but I’d really have to test it out. Let me know you’re thoughts on the new motor and wash system.

FYI this machine is super quiet and the exterior is absolutely sharp looking. They did a very good job as they always do, but lacked in the wash system department after all these years of having a dependable strong wash system. Why change it? All good things unfortunately do come to an end I guess…

Speed Queen had to change their design because of stupid EPA/DOE regulations. The previous models before 2014 were good since the first spin was fast spinning out a lot of the soupy water then in 2015 they made the first slow and in 2018 is when they really screwed up the design, they should have never bothered since it’s a crappy design. Sure, not everyone will agree with my thoughts on the TR series but all I know is that Lorain Furniture isn’t thrilled with them one bit nor are the customers who bought TR series Speed Queen washer.

Very simple machine, this one will last and easy to fix. As much as I don't like transmission-less washers, anything Speed Queen is top quality, top durability and top reliability. I'd much rather this washer dominate and be in every US laundry room than Mikey Mouse Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, and Bosch.

Why ? Speed Queen themselves use control boards now. Is a mechanical control dial too complicated to make ? No choice in water levels or if you want a warm rinse?

Even Speed Queen now like big brother wants to have more control over YOUR choices. You can scream from here to the moon.."BUT...BUT..MUH GLOBAL WARMING!!!" and it is a farce.

We can't stop anything from happening to this world.Man did not create it and he certainly can not change the weather or the natural disasters going on all over the globe.

It's so ironic and hypocritical that people support policies to destroy or make void the very things this site is largely dedicated to. The preservation of the past.

Like my senior history teacher said if we don't learn from the past we will be doomed to repeat it.

Just my opinion.
