It's alright
Based on the videos I've seen, it's alot worse than I thought. But it sounds like the insurance will cover for it. It'd be nice if the appliances survived but I wouldn't count on it so that's why I went ahead and created this thread. We hope to have the place done by this late summer cause we already have something planned up there by then.
Definitely a good point of not having a combo when you're in a rush but also a good point of not having to replace the entire set when one machine breaks over the other. I wish the cabin never had a stackable set in the first place but it is what it is. Regardless of what one we'd end up with, I hope to not get the white version because white isn't my favorite color.
The place does have a GE fridge which I'm pretty sure is original to the cabin since 2004 so I'll consider getting another GE as I did liked it. It also has a Frigidaire stove which is probably original to the place as well, I wouldn't mind another Frigidaire but getting a GE this time would match with the fridge more.
I completely forgot about dishwashers with filters inside. If I could get one without a filter inside, that'd be fantastic! My KitchenAid doesn't have one which I really do like with not having to worry about. My grandfather does have a newer Maytag dishwasher at his house and if it doesn't have a filter, I should probably get the same one for his cabin unless it's already discontinued. I know the Frigidaire at the cabin doesn't have a filter. I was going to order a new thermal fuse and leads for it but I may not have to anymore.
I think the kitchen design will remain the same so it's likely going to have another over-the-range microwave installed. Plus I don't think there'll be room enough to have a countertop microwave in the kitchen anyways. It currently has a Whirlpool which replaced the Frigidaire that died back in 2011. Besides that, we haven't had any other problems with over-the-range microwaves. I'll probably just get a GE to match with the stove and fridge unless if we get a deal on another brand. Pretty sure we just want a basic one.
I did fail to mention that the place also has a hand mixer, a griddle, a crock pot, and a roaster. I think the griddle and roaster had survived since both of them were stored upstairs but the carpets were also soaked as well so I'm not sure if they still work.
