New Stove Suggestions?

I was looking at stoves a few weeks ago and there was a Samsung induction model that I believe had 3 induction elements and the 4th was a regular element. Kind of makes sense in a way if'n you have a non ferrous (aluminum/glass) pot you like that otherwise wouldn't work on the induction units. Wasn't too expensive either considering,, about $1400 . Don't know how good Samsungs are though if you're a baker.

Does that mean that one can turn up the heat/setting on an induction unit (to get things hotter and one's heart beating faster) instead of taking a Viagra or Cialis?

Well Steve all I know is that the heat of the meat is directly proportianate to the angle of the dangle.

I think that was Pythagorus' theorum..he came to the conclusion one night while enjoying a hot bath.. look it up in your Funk & Wagnalls if you don't believe me.

Or maybe it was Archimedes principle.. I dunno, it's all Greek to me.. more your cuppa tea

Well this got interesting with the induction discussion.

I checked my cheapo cookware from Dillards and its not magnetic. It's getting kinda tired so some new cookware would be in order.

Now our discussions on the homefront have to do with stainless steel. The Bosch dishwasher is relatively new, 2004, and white. So is the above the range microwave. Plus the space above the stove is small and it is hard to find a microwave that fits. Though could take it out and replace with a regular vent and then a small counter microwave.

It seems if you want a white stove, then you have to get a regular flat top. All the inductions I've looked at online are all in stainless. I actually prefer the appliances to be white. Perhaps in time someone will make an induction in a white finish.

White hob...!

I have seen a white induction hob and it was either a Smeg or DeDeitrich its not a complete stove I know but you may find a white wall oven too..!
Sorry for being so vague about the brand but it was last year when I researched the cooktops.

New Stove

A few years ago I remodel the kitchen and installed a Jenn Air dual-fuel slide in with gas burners and electric convection oven. The stove requires a 50 AMP 240 V service. Got the Jenn Air as I really like to grill, all year and the Jenn Air grill works quite well. Had not had a convection oven before but a professional chef friend that told me I would like it. She was right, the convection oven is great along with the temp probe. Roasts of all kinds, beef, chicken, pork and even fish come out perfect by setting the temp you want, insert the probe and cook away. The surface has two fixed burners on right but the left is the grill or griddle with an optional griddle surface. I also got two additional burners that I can put on that side if I need them. The oven has an 8 pass broiler that works better than any electric broiler I have used in the past. I do not have room for two full size ovens so I have an Amana RadarRange over the stove. It is a vent and also a nice sized convection oven. Really great when I don't have a lot to cook or it's hot and I don't want to heat up the kitchen and annoy the air conditioner. The JennAir downdraft vent system works great with the grill. Between the downdraft and the Amana very little smoke from the grill escapes the cooking area.

Harry that range should only be installed on a 30 amp line at most, 50 amps is unnecessary and dangerous.

Best Buy

Again, thanks for all the great input about the ranges, a lot to think about. The kitchen redo is still a few months off. Yesterday took a bit of time and went to Best Buy to see some stoves in person. We bought the washer/dryer there and some TVs for the house.

We were greated by horrible music blaring over the PA system. Perhaps some people like loud music, but whatever the heck they were playing you could not talk in a normal volume. They had a ton of refrigerators which were interesting to look at. And about 3 electric stoves. No induction. And no sales people to even ask. I like it when you are looking at spendy appliances, what sales people we did see looked at you and then turned and ran the other way. So we left.

Between the music, lack of assistance, and little selection it makes me wonder, when the time comes, why spend money with these people? They must have changed their business plan somewhere along the way. Even their computer selection seemed minimal. Did see a fridge or two that may work and I know they can order induction ranges, but I would like to see one first. We have a couple of high end appliance showrooms here, so in my travels I'll see if they may carry induction ranges.
