Hi everyone, I recently acquired an old KitchenAid superba mod# 4kudA220T0

It is in decent shape, and I have ordered a few parts that I want to replace as a precautionary measure however there’s one part that’s broken that I can’t seem to find and I’m not sure if it’s even necessary for it to be fully intact . The lower baffle part no 4167295 … I can’t seem to find one anywhere, unless someone on here has one they’d be willing to sell . but my question is does it actually seal the bottom portion of the dishwasher? I was almost going to make something of a similar shape out of stainless . Also what’s the best way to coat these rust spots so they don’t get any worse

It's an Architect Series model (KUDA vs. KUDS) ... the 6" control panel height is to match a standard kitchen drawer face.
Interesting …… so I’ve started to dig into it and replace the pump seal as a precaution. The only thing I can’t figure out is how to cover the 2 rust spots in the tub

I like using 3M marine sealant get the white stuff and just coat the rusty area after you’ve cleaned it and dried it as much as possible.

Which 3m marine sealant do you recommend? I know 3m makes many different marine sealants .. also how good doesPLASTI dip re rack at hold up when repairing rusty racks

is it 3m 5200 sealant I should be buying ? The blue and white tube ? They also make a 4200 . … just pulled the rest of the sump out and entire motor and glad to say that the lip of the tank is in great shape

The lip of the tank never really got rusty on these machines because it’s not exposed to water.

I would take the pump apart and carefully inspect the pump seal. If it looks fine there’s really no reason to replace it. It really depends on how much use the dishwasher had, original parts are generally better than replacement parts for something this old.

The broken vent baffled under the door can probably be repaired or you can take it off any other K 22 dishwasher shouldn’t be too hard to find.

Well, here’s a quick update… I just spent four hours driving to go and find a donor machine for new racks this machine is in better shape than mine. However, it is a 23 series. Does anyone have any experience with trying to use the tank and heater out of a 23 with the controls from a 22?

Hmm I wonder if I could take the door and controls off the 22 and put them on the 23 . The 22 looks much nicer on the outside in my opinion
Very little is interchangeable between a 22 and 23 series DWs, I think the top rack is different as well.

Use the 23 KA DW if possible as its a much better DW overall.

Thanks Jon and others for your help with this . Here’s the finished product . Upper rack I was able to modify to fit the 22 series with some stainless nuts as spacers . I kept the 23 series machine as a spare in case this one ever dies completely on me I’m waiting on your kitchen cabinets so that’s why there’s a giant filler beside it . It works amazing !

Also want to note that I was able to fix the old door gasket by replacing the metal wire inside of it with a piece of stain stainless wire because the old one rotted out completely
