4 Grand for something that washes and dries clothes???
Have they gone MAD? lol I can't even fathom spending that much on an appliance. Yeah the touch screens are cool and they hold a lot of clothes, but, as mtn1584 said, too little water, probably poor washing quality and something that won't last a quarter of the lifetime as something vintage. And honestly I don't see how the older washers are that much wasteful when it comes to water usage. If you think about it, fill a washer with clothes, fill it with water, take the clothes out and you'll see exactly how much water it's using. Plus however much is left in the clothes. Now if you use a full load setting on a top loader to wash 1 or 2 articles, yeah that would be wasteful, but how many people actually do that? I prefer to stick with the solid metal tanks of yesteryear. They last almost forever, provide a good, quality wash and won't fill the landfills as fast as these new machines you're lucky to get 5 years out of. But, that's just my 2 cents.
