Spotted the HE variant at King Soopers. Looks like the entire Wisk line is getting a restage, along with an improved stain fighting formula, Stain Spectrum Technology. It looks like Sun's returning Wisk to it's role as the lower priced alternative to Tide.

I might try the Deep Clean version. I've always had good luck with Wisk.

Memories of Wisk

We had Wisk liquid here in Oz for a few years a loonngg time ago, as I recall my Mum was a really big fan of it as it was one of the first liquids she tried and it had a built in deodorant and a really nice fresh fragrance.
I guess it didnt really take off here as it only lasted a few years.

I too like to use Wisk in my machine. Wish they would go back to the original scent from the 70's.

I love Wisk, and them amp'ing up the enzymes will be great. Now if they would just promote the 3x version.

We had Wisk in the UK for a while in the 1980's and while I remember it as being one of the first liquids and smelling DIVINE, it was USELESS at stain removal.

I have to agree, I loved the smell of UK Wisk but it was terrible at cleaning! My Mum tested Cold Water Wisk in the 80's for Lever Bros but it didn't perform well at all and never made it to the shelves.

It has appeared on the shelves at my local Publix.

It smells exactly the same as it did. Whether or not the formula has actually changed and/or been enhanced remains to be seen...

Still $10.99 for the 100 oz bottle, altho' the bleach version says "52 loads" while the other versions say "64 loads"...

wisk memories

I remember when I was a kid there were lots of commercials for Wisk and how it cleaned "ring around the collar." Seems like it was one of the early liquid detergents - remember "Era"? My mom tried Era when it came out (she must have had a coupon!) and I remember her saying that powders worked better. I don't know if that's true or not, but I still use powders to this day (I use Ultra powder detergent that they sell at Costco in the big plastic buckets).

I remember when WISK came in a metal can with a small red cap. A friend's mom used one capful in the WP 33" combo.

Original Wisk

I remember when the original Wisk came out in a metal can in the late 50's. It smelled so nice and cleaned well too.

Does anyone remember Silverdust??? Breeze?? VIM??? Salvo??

Didn't Silverdust come with a premium like a towel in the larger sizes and a wash cloth in the smaller sizes? DUZ, I think, had glasses in the boxes.

We used Vim and Salvo in our Westinghouse Tumbler.

I loved it when Wisk came in the 3x in the late 80's early 90's. I would use it, and loved the smell. Then they changed it and added more water to it. I was hoping they would sell it at Bud's, but all they had was the Surf in 3x. (this was in 1995). Now I am a Tide girl(original scent).

Silverdust came with a Cannon striped dish towel. I think Breeze also had a towel. and Duz had gold leaf glasses. I just loved the smell of those detergents.

Did'nt you use DASH in the Westinghouse?

I just bought a bottle of the new Wisk. I did notice on the ingredients that it has a polymer in it. I remember when they came out with Wisk Away years ago that it also had a polymer and it did very well at removing stains. The Wisk Away was a pretreater.
I have tried the new Tide w/bleach alternative liquid Acti Lift. I have to say it cleans quite well and the scent isnt overpowering. Rinses clean as well.

I saw liquid Dash (both regular and with bleach alternative) for sale rather cheap ($2.99/bottle) in a local hardware chain. I didn't buy any, but it sure brought back memories of my youth when I would go with mom to the supermarket and look at all those wonderful packages. Who made Dash originally? P&G? Lever?

Isn't that the stuff used in hth spa enzyme based maintainer. I have some and I wonder if it's the same stuff that is in Wisk?

I got the new stuff which also comes in a new scent: FRESH BOOST. It smells nice.

Commercial

Just saw the commercial for this stuff while on my lunch break. Due for nationwide release in August 2010. Guess we'll have to wait a bit for it to show up everywhere.
