DUZ glasses

I have an entire collection of mint DUZ glasses (blue, star pattern) that my aunt gave me. What was "cheaply made" and free back in those days is of very high quality today. Glasses are thick, heavy. Go figure.

As much as I can remember, we used AD, All, Dash, Salvo, Vim, and Ajax with the choice often determined by coupons. We stocked up on lots of Salvo and Vim when they were introduced. Ajax was a little higher sudsing than the others, but worked in a front loader if you were careful.

My mother kept a bottle of Wisk on the shelf that was used on her nurse's uniforms and nothing else. All the nurses she worked with used this. I guess it did a good job on keeping white polyester white.

We had a family friend with a Maytag 80something (I never can remember Maytag model numbers) that used to use Tide powder in the prewash and put Era in to the softener dispenser for the main wash. Just about all loads were washed in this manner. That poor dear was so overloaded with clothes of her 6 kids that it is amazing that they all didn't have skin problems.

Mom left ALL for Era when she saw this. We had the gallon bottle with the pump permanently ensconced on the right side ledge of our Kenmore 70.

The new Wisk line

Here's what I know so far:

One is new:
Wisk Coldwater Power

Two are renamed:
Wisk Original - Wisk Deep Clean
Wisk Citrus Clean - Wisk Fresh Boost

Then there are:
Wisk with Bleach Alternative
Wisk High Efficiency

Wisky-Business

I picked up a jug of Wisk HE last night and used it today. I must say that it seems better formulated for rinsing than before. There were plenty of suds in the wash water to let you know it was present and working but the bubbles were large and deflated rather quickly.

Rinse water was clear by the second rinse even without fabric softener to suds kill.

I am impressed.

Wisk Coldwater Power

Did three loads with it. I am impressed. It's thicker than Tide Coldwater, formulated for both machines, rinsed out and cleaned better as well.

wisk

i bought a bottle of the new wisk, deep clean with stain spectrum, wisk claims it gets out mud, clay, dirt, which made me want to try it, i tried it with my whites, it did a very poor job, didn't even get dirt from the bottom of my socks. i had to wash my clothes again with tide, it was almost like my whites were washed in plain water, they literally looked as dirty as before i washed them. i was very dissappointed.
