Hello! New to the site...I have to say I am impressed!

Just thought I'd share my opinion of the new Zanussi Jetsystem on the market, 6 months down the line and mine is going strong...Thank Goodness! I have to say in terms of performance with spinning and rinsing, it is the best modern machine I have had that is not afraid of using plenty of water to rinse, so well done to Italy! Also, is there anybody who has or has had any Hoover Front loaders from the 1980's? Would be very interested to know of a few facts and opinions.

Welcome to the site! its alota fun.I Love the sounds of ur zanussi! I'm intregiued to know, does it spin in the rinses like i've heard some jetsystems do? some pix n vids would be awesome if you have any! & to answer your question. i have a 1987 hoover logic 1300!....fire away with your questions!

Hello Darren!

Mine doesn't spin in the rinses no, however the Ariston I used to have used to do that despite it being a truly awful piece of engineering. LOVE the logic, very faint memories of them though. I remember somebody having one and when you put it on you used to get this clicking sound for about 30 seconds before the machine started filling. Am I right with this or am I thinking of something else? PS: photos and vids of the jetsystem comin soon!

Hey Sadose,
I was a happy owner of a Zanussi iz(The one with tilted drum) for 2 and and a half years,
when suddenly the bearings went, water dripped on the motor and my Zanussi was beyond economical repair.

Yes it used to spin with rinse water in while the jet system was circulating water. Quite exciting thing to see.However when it was washing heavy items the suspension could not widthstand the weight and it used ti hit the wall. The jet system was on from the first minute of the wash untill the end.

After that i wanted to buy a Miele( my parents have one since 1984 still going strong and it does a load 365 days a year.
I bought Navitronic for 2 years now and i have to say there is no cmparison to Zanussi.ITS quick,(1.22 with prewash at 75 celcious)while zanussi needed 2.40 at 60 celcious.
Its almost silent while zanussi used to hum in the washing cycle and rinsing performane although no cirulating pump exists is much better. Cloths come out softer. The reason is there is 1200 rpm long spin after wash cycle and after rinse 1. It does only one rinse for 15 min but its a high level rinse unlike zanussi slower in between rinses spin ,800 rpm i think and low water level.
Finally the final rinse is also high level and softener is better diluted not leaving dyes on cloths.You have to try it to see the difference.

in the process of getting some pics of the Zanussi up onto the site. In comparison with the IZ range of zanussi machines the one I have does feel more robust and easily better than the Bosch I had, its currently doing about 16-20 loads a week at the moment and has been since we got it so we shall see if it stands the test of time...so far so good. My next door neighbour persuaded us to go the Zanussi route as her Zanussi S218T is still giving stirling service with no problem at all. Would be interesting to know how old her machine is actually. Any ideas anybody?

yea ur right in saying the logic clicks for about 30seconds its the internal mechanical timer clicking its way round to the setting chosen!

i also have a hoover newwave that spins in the wash. which is what interested me about the zanussi's spinning in the cycle, its loadsa fun to see. i was amazed zanussis did the rinse spin as they never advertised it i heard from a friend that they did it!

i have an aeg 74640 in the house which is pretty much like a zanussi jetsystem the jets on all the time. except it doesnt fill while distributing at the same time.

I saw the video of your New Wave. Very nice indeed! I personally didn't know of this Zanussi spin rinse, so I've checked mine again and the new version definitely DOESN'T do it, as I said my Ariston used to do it on the wash phase on most programmes and so did my Hotpoint Aquarius (understanding really as they were both the products of the parent company formerly known as Merloni.) The Zanussi seems to only have one drum rhythm for washing and rinsing which seems slightly odd in comaprison to machines I've had in the recent past.
 
ahh yea i had a hotpoint that did the "powerstream" which is just distribution speeds for about 20-30seconds which my hoover does b4 rampin up 2 400rpm lol.

so how do you rate your zanussi? i've always been a fan of zanussi's.
 
Personally I like it. It goes on several times every day from boilwashes (i do the washing that comes with my mother's job as a carer for the elderly) through to the handwash cycle. It's very thorough in its action. We had a Hotpoint Aquarius (current version) which i hated as the rinse performance was appalling and the 1300rpm spin was a joke especially when i could manage to wring a drop or two of water out of towels if i tried. Its rinses beautifully by doing 2 low fill rinses, 1 medium and 2 high fill rinses with 500rpm spins in between (this differs if you don't use rinse+) and spins at 1400rpm for a good 4 minutes so cottons are nice and dry. It doesn't seem as "tight fisted" with water as my Bosch was either which I for one see as a good thing. Pics and vids will be taken tonight as I'm off work til after Easter and have plenty of washing to get through...Darren, how do you rate the spin performance of your Logic? Does it rival your New Wave of the same spin speed?

How about the video for Zanussi's running of the washer activity?? I will want to watch the video for Zanussi's (washer, spin, rinse and final spin). When?

i do like those machines. to answer your question, the spin on my logic is fantastic. i've yet to have a 1300 out of my new wave which i'm at the moment tryin to fix. it has a module problem & cant get up to 1300 which drives me insane. it does a grand job of 800rpm though, got the dryer element on it working & managed to dry a load in an hour & a half in it. So i'm quite lookin forward to seein how quick it dries after 1300rpm.

would love to see a rinse level pic of your zanussi.

More pics comin throughout the day. also working on trying to get a video done as well. i might also get some pics of my next door neighbours 1970's/1980's zanussi as i have to go and clean the filter for her later today!
 
Miele rinsing

My Miele W1986 rinses 3 times on the Cottons program if Sensitive is selected. It gives 1000 rpm spins after wash and the first two rinses. The rinses do not fill to a high water level, so I just open the dispenser drawer, put a hose in and turn on another tap to fill it a bit fuller so that the water comes up onto the glass. Even if I don't add the extra water, with the good spins and the 1200 rpm final spin, the clothes are well rinsed. Heavy things get moved to the W1918 for a 1600 final spin.

Love those Zanussi./Electrolux/AEG jetwash n rinse systems, road tested John from Brum's machine last week, the AEG 88880,
had a rather large heavy cotton bed cover, washed perfectly then into his 7o's Hoover computer logic dryer...vented , reverse action every 37 secs...worked a charm...its the only item my MaytAsko always balls up...

Lovely samsung pics Samsungfl. The water shower from the top of the drum puts me in mind of the the early 1990's Zanussi Jetsystems which in my opinion were good machines in terms of performance but poor in terms of longevity. (And yes I know I currently own a Zanussi!) How long have you had the samsung now?

Secondly, great pics Chestermikeuk of the AEG, quite clearly obvious these days that AEG and Zanussi are part of the electrolux group. I would be interested to hear of the results given from that 1800rpm spin too!

More visually stimulating media should be put on soon of my beloved Zanussi as I have just received a bin liner full of cottons to wash for my mother's client!

I just noticed they've changed the spray nozzel, my nans older zanussi sprays the load with a stream of water like the aeg, but yours its more of a flat spray lol (its hard to describe, you get what i mean tho?)

looking forward to some vids :op
 
my AEG....

I have an AEG 16810 washer dryer. with the dryer vent being at the 12 o clock position the jetsystem nozzle is at 2 o clock.... the water JUST dribbles down the front of the glass door, hence the official slant on it being " a 3 way wetting system" rubbish
I want a new zanussi!!!!!
 
Interesting point there bearpeter. I have to say I don't think that the Jetsystem spray on my Zanussi provides much in the way of functionality but I like looking at it so I'm not too bothered. I suppose it does aid in the saturation of washing at the top of the drum but to be honest I very rarely wash that amount in one load anyway.
 
Zanussi Jetsystem in motion...

Ok guys, first video of my Zanussi uploaded, see link. In brief just a short taster to the start of a 40 degree cotton cycle where you will be able to see the low fill level covers the lip of the drum before the jetsystem spray springs into action and the wash begins. I intend to do some more videos when we get onto the rinsing and spinning.

Right then, alongside the video mentioned in the previous message there are also 4 more on there giving a brief view of most of the wash cycle, covering intermediate spin in between rinses, a view of the final rinse and also the majority of the build up of the final spin as well as evidence on one of them of the balance control kicking in (that damn pink bath towel!!) Enjoy!

Mike!-what did you think to your friends AEG then? once rinse + is activated i do think its quite effective! better than a beko! LOL!
