Well I've always liked the Blue one. It's a firm family favourite in our household. I was appalled when they took the green alpine fresh off the market it used to smell great (in 1995 in my old Colston Ariston 850XD washer dryer) For mine and my family's washing I still use spring awakening (blue) but for my mother's elderly client I use the new pink one (mango and orange i think it is) nice and strong and it manages to cover the smell of the ariel.

Am i right in thinking that on some older Zanussi's if the fast spin button wasn't pressed it would only spin at 400rpm even on the cottons cycles? I know I've seen it somewhere before where the fast spin button was permanently pressed in so the user could get their 800/1000/1200 on cycles A-D or A-F.

cool, i like the spring awakening lenor next to summer breeze and stayfresh lenor, i love the pink one too, thats lovely, it smells a bit like watermelon which is nice!!. My mum likes comfort though, the blue one or the pink one, Mum sometimes uses Persil Biological powder, when she doesn't feel like using ariel. This cleans quite well, is low sudsing and smells quite subtle so i can use any softener with it without getting a strong smell of detergent dominating the softener.

That looks very similar to one I had. I had a Zanussi Nexus FL1084, it was decent, it had a light on the door to tell you it was locked like yours does, but the door interlock was a pain, I think I had 3 new ones on it in 8 months, I ditched that in 01 and bought an Ariston which was a mistake.
Kyle, do you know what the significance of the rinse sensor injection system on some jetsystems is? I wonder how this works? I know it was present on the last generation of 4.5kg load jetsystems before the kind that you have was launched. It obviously had some operational merit???

I think the Rinse Sensor injection was some sort of foam sensor or turbidity sensor, or something there to use less water during the rinses to be more environmentally friendly lol. Don't quote me on that, but i think the jetsystem rsi range was meant to have a better pump, to recirculate more water thus more litres of water is pumped out per minute ensuring less water usage but providing a better rinse.

Kyle. Do u remember much about the Hoover Electronic your parents had when you were young? my mother had the model with the silver door catch and the timer that made some really strange noises. it lasted 14 yrs. Did the one you had have a round cornered, flush fitting door with a push button to open the door?

Yes they did, it was 1991 and i woke up at 3 years old with the 1982 Hoover Electronic 1100 Plumbed in, mine had the push button door and the rounded edge square door. It had a pull out dial which i loved, it was really good at washing, it went from A to H on the dial

ahh your old computer control must be from a similar range that of electron energy control stuff then? my friend had an electron 1100 it was great. I'd never have dreamed then that i would own my own one day. lucky me

my friend had a FL1084 & i loved goin round to see it on. one day i went round & my eyes fel out my head when i saw a then new hotpoint aquarius WMA forget the numba 1300rpm machine. in oyster! i was like wooooooah. but wow at the same time cause i'd never seen one of those in person.

programme E on ours was Minimum Iron, a 50 degree synthetic wash, i think they change its name as yours was the newer model. i always remember on the final spin the machine would be at 800 rpm, the timer would advance, the motor slowed down and then rose to 1100rpm with fury! Ours used to have a really noisy timer which I used to describe as a kid "when the tub goes to the right it goes T and when it goes to the left it goes T.....T!" and was much louder than what i call the "pin prick" sounds of more modern timers.
Darren: Have you had an energy control series Hoover Electron then? I'd love one of them. my child minder had one and I thought at the age of 4 it was the bees knees, she had the 1100 de luxe and the school i went to had the 800 de luxe. I liked the way it used to do short tumbles on whites heavy soil (i thought longer tumbles would have been better!) I loved the pushbutton to open the drawer with. Never really understood what the "low temp 40" and "low temp 60" buttons were for though?!?!
Ooooh Darren! Before i forget. Any chance of seeing some more pics of your prize beast (Logic) ive seen one or two of it but would love to see some in depth ones especially of the control panel. So if you haven't been using the AEG then what has been getting exercise of late? Logic? New Wave? Quartz?

I havent specifically had one no. my best friend did & i used it regularly so you could say i did lol.
the idea of the 45degree n 60degree button were for lighter loads i think to reduce energy consumption. looks good on paper i guess.

"The Rinse Sensor accurately measures the amount of suds during rinsing, determines the quantity of residual detergent and then adjusts the rinse water intake & spin profile during rinsing. The result is outstanding wash performance with maximum economy. Maximum water consumption for 4.5kg of cottons is miserly 58litres with the state of the art directa fj1200 washing machine.
