Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

lol sounds like you didnt have much luck when you got rid of the old faithful. wow thats interesting about the distribution sounds equally as fun tho! my quartz is the same but jumps str8 into distribtion pinning everything against the sides from the minute the pump starts. tis all very dramatic lol.

the only question i ask myself is when i get somewhere to live by machine. which machine will make the cut for the kitchen cabinet slot lol i figured i'd swap them over every few months! lol

D

you could do that if you had the space and time lol. However out of your collection I know what would go in between my two kitchen cabinets and that would be the Logic! As i was driving home this evening I also thought of something else ive seen on a logic. "Supercare" Am i right in thinking its like Woollens but the wash is done in cold water topped off with an 800rpm final spin?

i've yet to use that either. god im rubbish lol. get stuck in my ways lol. so it sounds like its just woollens but cold water then?

i love the high water level on it. i just wish the synthetic cycles span in the rinses.

D

Alphabet time?

So Darren what programmes do you actually use on your logic and your new wave? Woman that used to live opposite me had the washer dryer version of your logic and everything used to get washed on D! On my soft wave i used to use programme 8 a lot for some reason then back round the dial for a final spin because the short spin after 8 used to leave them too wet.

weeeeeeeell. i use C,D,E J & K mainly. i've bin doin most things on D so i can get the spins between the rinses & let it do 800rpm final speed. Even better rinsing.

if it just did it on the prog it'd b easier lol the quartz does!!! lol.

on the newwave i use 2, 4, 5, 6, & 13 for seperate dry.

it does a grand job considering it'll only do 800rpm for the moment. gonna get around to resolvin that this week or next week.

D

whats the problem? the module?

i noticed on one of your new wave videos on occasions the drum struggles to turn a bit as though the motor is labouring but once it gets going its fine. is it all related?

also with your new wave does the water level never rise more than 3 inches up the door glass for high fills? just a query because my softwave never did and it only did that on programme 10 which was neither use nor ornament!

Yea im suspectin module.
i changed the brushes. the motor seems in sound condition. it does struggle to turn sometimes & once it gets over that intital tumble its all fine. yea high fill on it is only 3 inches up the door. i quite like it though. i top it up now & again dependin how im feelin lol. nothin quite beats my logic feel greedy thing that it is. lol prog 10 on mine is fast spin.

D

prog 10 on the softwave was wool if u pressed the wool button but a 30 degree cool wash if u didnt. We got an exchange on that soft wave for a hoover performaEco. That was useless! Breaking down all the time! And...this is the best bit...that machine used to do 4 rinses on cotton cycles...however if you pressed super rinse, it would still do 4 rinses but use LESS water! It had an over sensitive balance control which meant in 8 months we kept it I only ever witnessed 1100rpm spin 3 times and that was washing a 5kg load of socks and smalls!! Put a shirt or two in and there was no chance. I changed it for the zanussi FL1084 which was already 6yrs old when i bought it and needed work doing to it to get it to drain as the drawer drum and filter was full of blue plastic! I did find a way round the spin problem on the Performa Eco and that was when the timer was due to click to the finish position,to get hold of the dial and force it back to the spin position it was trying to move from and then i used to get the 1100 spin! Hardly automatic lol

gees thats labour intensive! thats bizzare about the super rinse lol. was it backward? lol ahh the good ole zanussi saved the say hey.why did you get rid of that? well i was gonna get a Hoover Quattro seein as i've always bin intregued by them, sounds as though it'll last me all of 5mins tho.

got rid of the FL1084 due to bearing pump and door interlock failure so we went and bought a brand new ariston **coughs** MISTAKE NUMBER 343!!!

i agree! mine had a very noisy motor though at 1400rpm it was terrible! ive just done a vid of the zanussi making a few bubbles on a 90 degree wash which will be uploaded in the next 10 mins.

Pictures and Videos

Right then chaps: More visually stimulating stuff for you. See link below, I will summarise for the people who like to try before they buy!

New pics consist of: A shot of the display, then a halfway through a boilwash cycle, then a few shots of the filling for the rinse following that hot wash. ***See my lovely high fill level!***

New videos: A short clip of that boilwash, last part of the rinse fill showing clearly how far up the door the high level fill is, a clip showing pumping out, then the last two are of the spin speed getting upto 1400 and then lastly a short clip of the machine going from 1400 down to a standstill. ENJOY!

anyone tried the new comfort softener?

New Comfort Conditioning creme....
treats your clothes with small amounts of sweet almond oil and the other with small amounts of jojoba!
I thought I was in the wrong aisle of Sainsburys and was buying a new hair conditioner!!!!
Small is very sophisticated and flippin' expensive.
It was on speacial offer but duobt I would buy it full price!!
Anyway, give it a try, the clothes after drying smell lovely!

Now where are my "get butch quick" pills???

why doesnt my aeg ....?

Why doesnt my aeg fill to that level on the Cottons rinses? I would be almost happy then!
The water level on the cottons rinses doesnt even show over the lip of the door seal!
I can see a change of machine coming on..... sadly

if i use rinse+ the water level is lower. the pics there are of the machine on extra short cottons wash with no rinse+. on this cycle it does just 2 rinses at that water level with a 1000 rpm spin between wash and first rinse and a 1200rpm spin between rinses 1 and 2.

More pics of my Zanussi

My Zanussi Control Panel

as you can see I like to wash dark coloureds at synthetics 40 with quick pressed in, mainly because i like the high level rinses and i find 1200 spins the clothes and leaves them creased out, also it is 56 minutes long so i can tolerate waiting for the wash to finish.

A cottons 60 wash on my zanussi is 2hrs 8 mins, if i'm up early i will sometimes put the wash on then go back to bed for a few hours lol, its good though, the whites come out impeccably clean. Pristine whites!! yay!! championship whites with ariel!!

If anybody wants to know what detergent i use, I use Ariel Colour & Style powder on whites and colours (its really good on whites, darren recommended it to me) with lenor spring/summer/stayfresh/pink the sleep sensations one smells awful if i might say lol

I have used the comfort creme softener and i thought it smelt like coffee, but it was nice though not something i would like to have on my clothes lol

Enjoy the pics

Kyle

P.S i may give Ariel Biological a try in the near future, i'll buy a big box of it so i can force my self to like the smell!! lol

Sadose!!! Welcome!!!

I would have welcomed you earlier, but I've been staying with Dan off this board (washboy2005) in Hartlepool sicne the weekend... seems the moment I stop checking the boards the postings flood in!! Great pictures of your Zanussi - I love those models and the equivalent AEG ones. Lover older Zanussi and AEG models too - I own an old AEG and it is absolutely great. Also have a 2004 model AEG, love that machine too although I am thinking of getting rid of it for one of the new Miele's, having second thoughts now though. The matching dryer, on the other hand, really does piss me off!!

I love old Hoovers too - I grew up with them. My nana had an A3060 Electronic 1100 from 1978 too, spent many of my childhood days sat in front of that!! There was one on Ebay a few days ago, but I tried looking for it now and it must have ended whilst I was away - otherwise I seriously would have bidded on that! (God knows where I'd put it though lol). I also grew up with a Hoover A3110 from 1980 for my first 8 years - was the same machine as Kyle described, and had exactly the same controls as the A3060 with the different spin buttons. (BTW, kyle, programme E with the half spin button pressed in was Minimum Iron - they still called this programme Minimum Iron until the Six range was introduced I think).

I have the privilege of living just round the corner from Darren, so I'm often round his having a little wash-in with his Hoovers and the Quartz - absolutely love them!! :-)

I agree about you with the Bosch - the one my mum has downstairs in the utility room washes & spins well, but the rinsing has a lot more left to be desired - fortunately I see the new Exxcel and Classixx models now all have the Aqua Plus button for extra rinse *and* deeper rinses, so hopefully their rinsing should have improved. It's to the extent that I can use biological washing powder of any brand in my Miele or AEG washers, but with the Bosch downstairs I can only use Persil as that is the only detergent that realyl does rinse out well (way better than Ariel), and is the only detergent that doesn't aggravate my sister's eczema or my dad's dermatitis. (Found that Persil seems to clean the best for me aswell in a powder, and smells much nicer, although you definitely can't beat Ariel when it comes to liquids).

I love that Siemens! They really are smart machines - although like Bosch they don't rinse very well, they definitely are well built workhorse machines. My Bosch is used at least 10 times a week and it sounds a bit dodgy because it has been bashed about by the builders when they were doing alterations to my house, but it seems to be behaving itself now and is again washing quietly.

Anyway, I'm starting to blabber... I have some videos of my old AEG on my putfile I can post right now, but don't have any other videos/pics up there at the moment. I have a few pics up on my webshots album though - http://community.webshots.com/user/aquarius2101 - and have linked to my putfile below!!

Take care!!

Jon

Kyle,

Nice photos!! Love your Zanussi, those pushbutton models are some of the best available on the market, tried and trusted too and I bet they'll be around for a few more years yet!

Jon

Hey newwave1 it would be nice with some more videos of the hoover machines. I have already seen the ones you have on your page. I really like to hear the sound from that logic you described. And a little more of the newwave machine, please.

Sadose: what other machine is heard on the videos? its not only the zanussi that is on.Would be fun seeing clips of the other machine too.

More Pics of my Zanussi

Hey guys, i did a load of whites this morning and i took some photos of my washer in action. I ended up doing two loads, a 90 degree cotton wash for dishclothes and teatowels, and a 60 degree synthetics wash for my bedsheets (these are pure white too)

Heres a caption of the first load on cottons 90 with quick and super-rinse, i use this because on a normal 90 wash without quick takes 2hrs 25 mins, but with quick and super-rinse pressed in the wash is shortened to 1hr 47 and u get 3 rinses but with a shorter wash phase
