Looking at the Handle:
I believe that the lower part of the Handle is Broken/Missing. I had some School Friends who's Parents had this very same Refrigerator and it had an identical Handle sitting upside down, so you could open the Refrigerator, by using either Handle. I don't remember if it had the fold down vanity vegetable tray, but that looks pretty neat and no doubt quite handy as well.
