Salut!
Youve inspired me enough to realise I really need to brush up on the very little French I know and have invested in a 7 week beginners course.
Ive bought the "teach yourself" french starter kit by Elisabeth Smith which seemed about the best for the money but one problem im not sure about,
In task 1 it says....
That I should not worry about using the appropraite le, la, and les before a word, as il learn it as I go along or if I dont, it wont really matter as no one will bat an eyelid!?????
Now when I was learning french at school im sure we had it drummed into us its exceptionally important to get the right gender onto the appropriate word. (although its an area where im completely in the shade about what I did learn as regards this.)
As opposed to learn it and get it right eventually (or indeed not and not worry about it) I would rather just do it right and not get into bad habits.
Do you have any advice you could give?
Merci beaucoup
Nick
