Hey Guys

Just has out new trade price lists through- all Merthyr produced models are End of line/Whilst stock lasts :(

Tis a very sad day :(

Seamus

Certainly is seamus.
Though for me it all ended at the end of the newwaves and beginnin of the quattros the first hoover/candy collaboration.

I have often wondered what would have superseeded the newwave if hoover were without candy..what techinical inovative machine would they have topped it with...or could i have got myself a newwave plus 8:P

I hate how things turned out for companys like hoover, servis and hotpoint.

Darren

I have to agree Darren

Hoover died for me when the New Waves were dicontinued, This is really just the final nail in the coffin.

RIP real Hoovers :(

It's just all the more reason to keep the ones we have in pristine condition :)

Matt

I'm always on the hunt for a newwave, but with a good spin like 1300 or 1400 preferably, being in good condition, no rust etc.

So no more Hoovers in Merthyr. Where r they moving to?

I would expect the head office to stay at Merthyr for the time being. The Hoover washers will be made at the Candy factory in Italy.

Tom.

Loving the Computer control Seamus.

I too am on the look out for a decent New Wave.

Have started to study the New Wave, Classica and Soft Waves for a spreadsheet, which will end my spreadsheet studies of Hoover washing machines (the Candy orientated stuff is wayyyyy too complicated for me to deal with - leave that to someone else!).

I had a classica 1000 in my second year at university, which replaced a Hotpoint 9531 Currys special 1000.
Me and a mate went to case the local second hand appliance store -we had a choice from Hotpoint 95's, a Hoover Logic and the Hoover Classica. I wanted the most modern machine that was available soooo, even though we were students, we bought the most expensive machine available on the shop. We only had it a year tooo, before we all moved back onto campus and we left the machine behind.

I know of a safe Hoover Aristocrat in a collection (I think its an AC336), but will own my own one day. although they are getting very rare on ebay, sooo will have to bite the bullet soon, before they go the way of the Hotpoint Liberator and Hoover Matchbox.

Fingers crosed for us all to find decent exaples.
Paul
