No Panasonic Laundry in the USA, are we missing out?

Love to know why Panasonic-- the corporation once known for wanting to sell SOMEthing to EVERYone-- doesn't market laundry in the US. Or much of anywhere.

My only hands-on with P'sonic was a 1973 twintub. Superbly engineered, wish I still had it. Looked to see if I could buy one today. The answer was 'yes' but only if I lived in/was willing to ship from/Kuwait.

Well, the reason is in the article. I actually think the market for European sized frontloaders is a niche market that is already catered for by Miele, Bosch and Asko. I don't think Panasonic would win a lot by selling these washers in Northern America.
