Tonight I made Ribs, Scalloped Potatoes, and Mac and cheese. Decided to load into the Miele along with plates and other glassware. Pot &Pans cycle with minimal detergent. Let’s see what the Miele can or can’t do......

What model do you have and what detergent did you use?

Those results say to me that the unit didnt reach the right temp?

i would say you got very good result. what model do you have? i have a G 6900 Sci and it never disappointed me in washing everything perfectly

That ring around the pyrex and the chunks on the sheet pan shouldn't be there though.

I've gotten very comfortable with my G2020's results, but I did go in and raise the wash temp and added an interim rinse.

On pots and pans on a crystal, the chunks shouldn't be there if all three arms were working properly and that ring should be gone if it was hit with enough water that was up to temp.

Would detergent really make that much of a difference?

I guess I always stuff my machine full and I use Miele tabs.

Tonight’s torture

1 piece of chocolate sheet cake added mid cycle. Small amount of detergent and express cycle with turbo setting. Jkbff how do I increase temp and add rinse? Also excuse the dirty dishwasher front.

Where did you get this machine? Why don't you have the back half of your bottom wash basket? Or is it just pulled out?

Email is current. Back half of basket is out. I got the machine for free on Craigslist. The softerner reactivation valve buzzes loudly (I replaced it and still buzzes). So the original owners were throwing it out.

Latest results just a little bit of cake bits left around and on the glasses, silverware basket, and roof.

express wash should be used only for very light soil on dishes.it also seems the point of knife placed in the bottom could prevent middle spray arm to turn freely. tabs are not suitable for express wash as the wash time is not enough for them to dissolve properly.

I use Cascade Complete Powder. I also wanted to try with express turbo because I like the short was cycle. This machine has an EXTREMELY long run time on pots and pans or normal wash.

I'm sending you an email but let me ask this, the 30-45 minutes the turbo option saves you, how much time and additional water is spent/used rewashing and drying the dishes?

I think this generation uses slightly more water than the current 6000 Generation machines, but I know the turbo option in the older units hinders wash performance.

That being said, if you used the turbo wash on both sets of pictures, that absolutely explains the wash results.

There is a reason for the lengthy times. Any wash-ability or drying complaints I've received from customers have all lead to someone pushing the turbo button. Turbo can't handle burned on or heavily soiled.

Only used turbo wash and express with that piece of cake. The Corning dish and baking sheet were done using pots and pans without turbo

I use Finish Quantum tabs for burned or stuck on food. Tabs may give a better result on burned on food than any type of powder.

I use the built-in water softener and tabs cause a major oversuding. I haven’t had the suds condition with the powder.

What is your water hardness and what is the DW set at?

But I agree, sometimes, unless the dishes are really dirty, the tabs will suds up.

So, if you have softened water, that amount of soap for the first load seems ok, but I am still concerned with the heat?

Did you get that attachment that I sent?

I got the attachment thanks!!! I turned on increased water temp, water level, prewash, soak, and interim rinse and I’ll see how it goes. I think it’s 15 grains, I’d have to check again. Also, I don think the dishwasher works correctly. The softener valve buzzes and sometimes I hear cavitation so not sure if it’s supposed to do that

If the valve buzzes, there is a known circuit leak (from what I understand) that lets a small amount of voltage through to that valve. Does it buzz all the time? Like when the unit is supposed to be off?

It only buzzes when it’s supposed to operate. I’ve changed it and it still buzzes and I think it also is what causes cavitation

Just something to the new owner of the Miele Dishwasher, the cycle times of most European models are much longer than their American counterparts. We have a Siemens and the cycle times on your machine is pretty much on par with ours, the turbo I would suggest is almost like a half-load wash, and cuts down on the washing time but on the results as well.

We usually leave ours on 50 (eco) with the final rinse at about 70 degree celcius, and for really dirty stuff we use the 60 degree cycle, with minimal problems.

Just set it and forget it. By the way I think the buzzing noise is something to do with the fill valve, our Siemens does the same.

I have an older Miele DW so don't know how the newer ones work, but on mine the cycle times are not fixed. The estimated time is the average time it has taken the machine to complete that particular cycle and includes any time taken to heat the water to the temperature it needs. The water temperature in my house varies, colder in the winter, warmer in the summer, so I get longer cycles in the winter when the incoming water is cool, and shorter cycles when the incoming water is hotter.

What is your incoming hot water temperature to your machine? That may make a difference in the cycle time, and if you have not used some of the cycles the time you are seeing for them maybe the time it took at the other person's house and if that person never used that cycle the time will be the time it was run at the factory which I think is done using a cold fill.

From what the Tech department said, if the valve still buzzes, its because the electronic needs to be replaced because a rectifier or something somewhere is leaking.

They said to use an ohm meter and see if there is voltage to it when it isn't running.
