Now I need all the positive vibes possible....

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I didn't open it during wash, i wasn't there but I went to get rid of the bosch to the dump.....though when i came back it was drying and steaming from the vent, looked it was slightly hotter than 65 inside from the vent, though maybe it's due to the element being turned on during rying cycle as I could smell the typical odor of drying using the element....another thing...it totally dryes everything, at perfection!!!!! No more towel drying!! Yuppee!

ALRIGHT!!!

i'm so happy for you kenmoreguy89!!!
sounds like a WONDERFUL dishwasher!!

YYYYYIIIIIIPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

:o)

Anyway Louis, sure I'll tell you more with the time....
I still have to get customed to the differences of the various cycles and "learn" about.....
I also still have to read all the booklet, I just looked for the programs chart, but differences o9f what changes like temps etc are not mentioned, anyway, I'll scan the english one and post it here.
And with the time I'll be able to let you know every small detail about it, I just have it since yesterday...

it used more water and electricity than other machines

Like my 30 year old Miele. Cleans exceptionally well just using the Economy 55 wash. Just look at those spray jets!

Cool Dishwasher!!

Congratulations on getting your machine! As many have stated it is a very stylish design. The dual wash arm setup reminds me of the WasteKing H-Axis design (but this looks more efficient). Congrats again & enjoy!!

That's a cool looking dishwasher, and I really like the design. Like you, I'm happy, too, as you got a low mileage, like new machine. It has a technical design, as I call it, with grace.

Indesit? It's indecent that it sounds indecent from a brand called Indesit. LOL!

NOOOOO!

I am almost crying....... :( :( :(
It simply was too beautiful to be true for me.....I couldn't be this lucky...it never goes smooth and well for me.....never!!!
Was using it tonight, it was like 15 minutes it started it's cycle, I was getting back to the kitchen when all of a sudden lights went out, I thought of a black out, but lights on the other apts were still on, so I checked the safety circuit breaker and it was off, something wasn't going right.... that gave me the willies as I just had the dishwasher running...
Tried to lift the switch up, but it wouldn't stay up...
I reached the dishwasher and turn the button off and, and I could smell a burnt ozone smell... here I screamed a huge "FUCK!"
After turning it off, switch would stay up...
I came back to the machine and checked for leaks or something, nothing...everything was okay....I tried turning it on again and lights went off again, so yes, it was it....then I did turn the knob to a random point and went to the safety switch and lifted it, lights didnt go off and I could hear the machine draining.
I waited that drain would finish, it then started filling water for rinse, and once full and motor started going....I could immediately see by the loss of power/light of the light bulbs in the room that something was wrong with it (like if someone just switched on a 6000 watt thing), just after that, I could also hear that the motor was doing a weird sound than before, like a kind of humming in background, the kind of noise motors does when they're on effort or blocked... you know... that electric hum ..don't know if I am clear, I could hear water inside not being sprayed as strong as before also.... and ozone/burnt smell was starting to get out again from the machine, so I turned it off....and here I am, scared as hell of what it could mean...machine is kaput????? I am flattened....[this post was last edited: 11/21/2014-17:12]

I am glad that you got the dishwasher you wanted.I hope that it can be repaired easy. I would love to get a vintage Kitchenaid but they are hard to find in Memphis.Good Luck. Carl

Well, I should have expected it, there's always something that doesn't go initially with the Vintage I buy, well, at least I thoght that this one being never used would just work without probs...I am not into dishwashers so don't know...looks like motor is in dispersion and overheats, but maybe it's a faulty bearing that made it work on effort and did burn something inside like insulations or something and now it disperse, I hope it didn't suffer and for my knowledge about I am not able to tell if it ever did....if so I think I can have the motor checked and eventually re-winded but I think it'll cost much...
smiley-cry.gif

I don't even know where to start checking it now, still trying to figure how to start detaching motor-pump stuff inside... but damnit I'll have it working again! I must to!
I am now starting asking on various forums for some help...
I am so sad though....

Trying to figure out.....
No clue....and do  not  even know  where to start...

I spot an electric box over the motor which is a bit darkened....look like it overheated, not from the motor as it's just one side of it, and upper..
maybe some wiring inside got bad and discharge electricity on the motor? Gonna open this little box today, gotta go out  buy a smll screwdriver (I had it, but can't find it)....
Go think it could give problems....it looks everything so shiny and new....

Removed motor-pump block this evening, bearing was fine and well greased, propeller turns enough freely, can't spot any signs of burned insulations or overheating from outside, no burnt or ozone smell either (it actually still have that nice vtg appliance mechanics smell)....go figure... i am gonna bring it to an electrician- motor rewinding shop tomorrow...I discovered there's one just one block away from my condo...
Hopeful they can tell me something and help out/fix it...not asking lots of $$$...
Finger crossed...
Please wish me furtherly some good luck!

That looks a lot like the Dishlex Pump/Motor Assembly from the machines sold here from the late 70's until the mid 90's. The early machines were like yours with a separate drain pump, the later machines have a reverse to drain main motor.

Next time I'm at mums, I'll try and find it, I have a brand new motor (With the later pump attached) in box at Mum's. I'm pretty sure to convert it to the older style, you just need to cap off the drain ports.

Can you take a photo of the back of the motor and see if you can get some measurements, I'll try and do the same in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers

Nathan

Thank you Nathan! You're so kind!
But let's wait to see how it ends up.....you know, anyway shipping from Oz is not going to be cheap so...it's the last attempt I could do ...I appreciate.
I doubt that the dishlex is identical, but who knows...
Anyway this motor is a 370 watts, 2800 rpm no maker indicated...that thing moves the water!!!! You gotta see the propeller!

I discovered the guy that was supposed to fix motors near my house is just a turner, and doesnt know much about electrics, he just rewind motors.....and they told me he's expensive....
So am gonna bring the motor to Casale Monferrato 15km from me... someone maybe have  heard this town as it was a famous cenre for asbestos panels and cementified products production back in 50s, 60s and 70s (eternit company) that  made ill  (tumors) and killed thousands of people in that town  and around because of their factory that used to spray the dusts all over the town from it's chimney in those years as well as their products used in constructions all over italy and europe  (my sister boyfriend's is from there and his father just battled lungs cancer, there're still effects going on today since then and the dismissed factory it's still there, the factory was made 70% of eternit also )....in these days there's a scandal for the  lawsuit  result againts eternit company... nobody is gonna pay for this genocide!
Anyway, am going off topic.....
Am going there as there's an electric company who is specialized in civil and industrial implants and lot of other things, who also rewinds motors and they state of every kind (first google results that pops out in italian), so hopefully they can tell me exactly what was wrong with it, they should be into these things...and eventually fix. rewind whatever..
I was told not to detach the snail, as once you detach it, it's likely to develop leaks as it will loose it's tighteness and it's difficult to get it sealed properly again... I trust the suggestion, so am not going to do anything...
I could detach the two covers (where snail is attached to) and keep home the rotor+snail and upper cover block, but I think I need to bring them the whole block so they hopefully can wire it and check how it works....you can't do that without it's rotor...
But I am reluctant and afraid to, that's because the snail is made of a delicate material bakelite-like...and I am fearful something could happen, finger crossed.. parts of course are not available anywhere anymore....just from donors...
Speaking of donors, it's notlike they pops out everyday either...
Currently there's just one VTG indesit for sale and it's near me...it's the 3 racks tall one, the model is the later one.... but perhaps it mounts the same part as the 2 rack model and the earlier ones like mine... they ask 180 euros...a lot considering I'd use it for parts...

Anyway...I hope not to have to do such a thing....
So finger crossed...
Thank you so much carissima amica mia Christina and everyone again for the support and kind words, it means alot knowing there's someone who cheers and cares for me...

There is something wrong with Mielerod's Miele dishwasher! Where is the orange button that they put on every single one of their appliances? That little orange dot on the dial doesn't count. Something not right here.

Orange dot

Hi Rapunzel,

There was an orange ring in the door button, but it's faded after 30 years!

Gotta luv those orange buttons lol, just like on my 25 year old dryer.

I've personally witnessed entire Miele appliances fade away around their orange button. The orange button never fades.

There must be someone out there that is cursing me...
That it's just not right...
Have had the motor to rewind finished just few days before Christmas (they said it was burnt out), 70 euros the expense, so finally yesterday I had time to work on the machine..
My sister went here to give me an hand, and after 2 hours, from 9pm to 11, because of various difficulties, that I'd really need pics to explain, the motor pump was up again...
Water test went fine, so it was finally time time test the motor..
I fire it up and I start hearing the same weird noise it would do before, few seconds to lay to the back to watch and I started seing smoke coming out...plenty...
It was not the same odor I smelled before, but at this time it was like burned wax.
motor of course had been wired correctly.....I have no clue..I am so sad....
