Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hey sweetie, great album! I can see a good time was had by all, and now I'm off to the email tab to send my long overdue email!

YAY!! Fun pictures everybody!

There must be a "thing" with newbies finding the Frigidaire 1-18 Model WC...maybe the ideal "First Frigidaire"?

Hiya Scott--I'll be looking forward to hearing from you! :-D

Hiya Austin!! Congratulations on having a fantastic WC of your own--yes, like samples of Tide in the mail, it seems you just end up with a Frigidaire WC these days. I'm so happy you have the dryer, too--I need to work on that :-)

Those are such great machines--the turnover is astounding and the capacity is incredible. Pulsation seems to move so much more clothes than agitation...I never cease to be impressed. All of my laundry goes through those machines these days--and the 2003 GE sits dormant.

Cheers to the First Frigidaire! :-D

Nate's Turn

Nate you do a great job with posting pictures with great captions. Our little Tucson group is a great, fun loving group. Thank you for your hard work getting all these postings done. Your Frigidaire is a great machine as is your Maytag which brings back memories of my first Maytag.

Thanks Nate for posting all those wonderful pictures and captions!!! I talked to Roger after he got home and I know that you guys had a really great time. Now I hear there is another wash-in planned for Saturday and then next week a trip to Phoenix to look for treasures!! I am looking forward to meeting you on my next visit to Tucson!! Thanks for sharing and Have fun!! Terry

Wash-in Party !

Well it sure looks like you guys had fun! I like the 1-18,and it looks to be in great condition. Nice job putting that back together. (Isn't this the washer that the console was missing when you first looked at it)?
Thanks for the great pictures :)

Rick

Another great series of pictures capturing another fun Arizona wash-in. I'm avocado-green with envey. And Nate ya look like a super contented washer cub. Yup, nuttin' like happy, thrilled washer bears--umm Scott could empart their wisdom on that along with golittlesport.

Go Roto!

Great wash-in! You guys are having waaaaaay too much fun not to include the Texas contingent! Nice to see a 1-18 looking and working so well! It gives us something to look forward to!

Great pics too!

Venus

It's true! :-P

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone--it really was a blast, and we ALWAYS enjoy sharing the pics with all of you--you have the best comments :-P

Yes, Bob, I'm a happy washer-cub :-P (wink)

Yes, Rick, my 1-18 was the previously beheaded one, but fortunately they were nice to the parts while they were off wandering around other areas of the appliance yard. The only ill effect was the need to replace the hose to the pressure-switch float (it had been severed in their haste to remove the controls), which was no big deal, really.

Venus--good luck to you and Austin with that 1-18! It's fabulous, you'll LOVE doing your laundry in it (I promise), and I admire his patience and skill to tackle it. Best wishes and lots of hugs! And YES, if you're ever up for a trip, come visit us and share the wash-in joy! We'd LOVE to have the Texas contingent over!!

Thanks again, everyone! :-) Big hugs to you!

And...

Yes, Terry, we're planning a top-secret subversive trip to a Phoenix yard to see what neat-o-tastic retropliances we can find! :-P (I want for it to be next weekend already--how can I survive the work-week!!!)

--Nate :-)

Neat-o-tastic retropliances? I just *love* the words you come up with! Nothing ick-tastic about those! ;-)

Well Nate, to help you through the comming week waiting for the next retroappliance scouting episode, do laundry. Focus on the filterflo system doing it's job to perfection. Listen to teh sounds of both the water and the machine. Come home every night and do some wash. And don't forget the 1/18. Fill'er up with a full load, sit back in a lawn lounge chair and listen to that rhythemic thunk a thunka thunka. It makes me a contented li'l washer beaer. Frigidaires alawys have since I was 6 years old. And make sure you watch that halo-of-spray fanning out over the tub. And the spray rinse spin is almost like beaning near niagra falls and hearing the power of nature. Am I exaggerating? I personally don't think so. Just typing all of this has me yerning for Omaha. Hang in there. If hubby can understand your angst and empathize with you, you got a jewel there too. If it gets REALLY baed, y'all will just have to go campinig next to the washers. It's what I wanted to do when I saw Robert's basement in Minneapolis August, 2001. I think Glenn and I both wanted to just spend the night in the basement in the presence of such design splendor and the smells.

Great job!

Nate you did a wonderful job with the 1-18. It might be scrap by now if not for your rescue. Thanks for your great pictures also. They are ALWAYS awesome!

Rick

Nate it is not going to be easy but I can promise you it will be worth the wait. Let us know what you think when you get back. Terry

Grate Nate

Love your machines, love your wash-in. BTW thers really nothing bad about a hg maytag, so much better than what is made now with tag's name on it. I'm with you, tho, I'd keep that 1-18. If Roger's a Maytag man, then who better than to have it? Thanks for the pics and story-David
